Yesterday I was told that the class I’m scheduled to teach this month, Confronting Oppression & Injustice, is no longer part of our curriculum. This is a required class yet there was no discussion, no faculty vote, just an email saying the class no longer exists. This is what it’s like in Texas now.

I’m skeptical if we’re gonna get a stream of Frankenships unless they’re working towards where we’re able to one day commission that kind of thing ourselves from Grey’s. But one or two is kind of fun I suppose.

I think the student petition for partial refunds, plus the (welcome) coverage of the skills development fund have them wanting this out of the news cycle. PT apparently requested mediation and they were granted a session in Dec so to strike before that would be unlikely I think.

Check the Auditor General’s report on the Ontario Skills Development Fund. More easy taxpayer money for their rich friends.

More than 10K FT college support staff across Ontario are on strike. The strike was triggered after the employer (CEC) refused to include strong job security language in their proposals. We’re fighting to protect the work that keeps campuses running, and the services students rely on. #ONPoli #OPSEU
