Went Mattingly, Murphy, Fernando. Obv. bonds/Clemens the best players by why waste a vote on them now. They will only ever get in through some steroid commission or other.

IOW, I didn't choose the three best players.

Yeah, it takes me a good 10-15 minutes to warm up which really annoys my son (I have had a bum shoulder since high school baseball that gets stiff but has never been bad enough to do anything about luckily).

You are now a ghost and don't need to sleep, so you are constantly up.
Which places would seem bearable and fun to haunt for the next 40 years?

I agree, Hernandez had the better career and deserves to be in. However, its possible it will take Mattingly to get in for Hernandez to ever get any traction (which he isn't getting).

I am also not a 'this guy needs to be first' guy. In part because I am big hall. Just get deserving players in!

Oh, I am beyond that point! I honestly don't care about the reason they are out (I care more about other stuff they did but I am more of an 'honor the player we watched' more then 'honor the man').

I just don't want any arguments on it. It's exhausting.

The one player outside of my HoF then is Delgado. Very good player, never great.

I don't want to re-litigate why Bonds and Clemens won't get elected this time.

I think 6 of the 8 guys on the ballot had HoF careers. One of the other two (Valenzuela) has other things to recommend him (pioneer for Mexican players, etc.). So electing multiple players is my wish.

Selfishly I hope it's Mattingly turn!

I am left a little flat from the World Series. Trying to think of a time when the underdog played better and lost. In 1960 the team that played better lost but the winner was a plucky underdog with a great story. 2001, the empire almost won despite being outplayed.

Any other direct parallels?
