In NZ we can see just how cheap it is to buy an MP, the car, milk and oil companies bought enough MPs prevent any shift away from oil and dairy

And NZers can't get their heads around the fact their politicians are simply corrupt

I'm quite sure there will be more changes to voting that suppress left-leaning voters

And I'm betting there will be a deluge of social media with scary stories about The Greens/TPM/Labour

So I'm really not confident they will lose

I'm sure they were, but it's pretty clear this government only responds to the interests of their donors - in this case charter school owners and private healthcare companies

Mere voters can always be swayed later with slick ad campaigns close to the election

One thought I did have is that the analogy could be extended to raindrops on a pond - with multiple rings spreading and intersecting

Where you are in one ring may be completely different to your position in another ring

I really like that concept

For what it's worth I became somewhat accepting of how different people reacted and/or got it wrong when I was in the centre (heck my brother brought me a box of doughnuts ... when I was in the ICU after open heart surgery)

I'll try and remember not to get it wrong

I agree entirely that Labour is much better than the current utterly corrupt puppets of ATLAS and big oil/car/milk/tobacco

I just think Labour could be better than merely ... not corrupt AF

I also think Labour has been better than merely not corrupt AF and perhaps they should aspire to be better

Oh btw, the "East West Link" has been resurrected.

NZTA is pushing an investment case to spend $3.7-4.1 billion to get <1% back in economics benefits ($49.5m) each year.
