Have to quote this again because GoFundMe accounts are following and publicly tagging me asking for donations. I hate having to block these accounts but I will because they're ignoring the pinned post.

This is how I'm helping. Don't push me to pick and choose specific people.

Going to pin this as a general PSA for new followers:

I do not honor requests for donations from individuals who follow then DM me. I am supporting Gaza through a monthly contribution to the United Nations Occupied Palestinian Territory Humanitarian Fund.

Thank you for your understanding.

Dammit! Edited in the wrong place. I meant the so-called "resist lib" accounts.
blitzthedragon.bsky.social
I think there's merit to all three of those, as I have been watching the so-called accounts that flooded in at the start of Trump 2. Many of them *want* NSFW off the site and have been praising the changes to the guidelines.

They're who the site is trying to pivot to, I think.
blitzthedragon.bsky.social
There's a few theories about why Bsky's moderation took the turn it did. Most common ones are compliance with internet censorship laws, dislike of the userbase they got vs the one they wanted, and preemptively bending the knee to advertisers and payment processors as they plan to monetize.

As gross as it is that the DSCC is putting their thumb on the scale for Mills, a Mills vs Platner primary will be a good litmus test for where Maine primary voters stand and how fired up the base is for change.
blitzthedragon.bsky.social
I'll probably be okay since I don't post or repost NSFW, but even so I am on the waitlist for Northsky in anticipation of queer and NSFW accounts migrating there. If they get banned, I'll still be able to see them that way.

Welp. New community guidelines go into effect tomorrow. Guess we'll see what happens. I've heard various opinions, none of them good, but the worst prediction seems to be the majority one.

For everyone angry at Bluesky, a direct way we can help northsky is by tossing them a few bucks.

They're all working multiple jobs trying to make this happen for us.

The Regime's goal is to grind everyone down. Plain & simple. Our goal is to refuse this by taking turns to fight where and how we can. When one group needs to bow out, then another group needs to step in and so on. We don't all have to do everything. We can all do something though. Stay in the fight

activists are doing a lot of good work to try to help the people being brutalized but the biggest and most important thing that needs to be done is to break the regime, by any means necessary, and absurdist mockery is proving to be an extremely effective part of the arsenal

NEW: As ICE presence increases in Chicago — home to the third-largest Catholic diocese in the U.S. — Catholics and allies are pushing back.

Over the weekend, a priest warned parishioners to leave Mass carefully.

Locals formed a human chain to protect them from ICE. religionnews.com/2025/10/14/a...
As ICE rocks Chicago, Catholics respond with prayer — and protest
(RNS) — ‘As a person of faith, as a leader of faith, to not speak of it is simply unethical — and sinful,’ said the Rev. Brendan Curran, a Dominican priest.

“Everybody had their orange whistles on, and they were clearly ready. ICE had to be a lot more careful about where they were hitting, and so it was a lot harder for them to take more people.”

If you want something positive, I'd say that the current DHS strategy of using excessive force has been extremely counterproductive. Rather than actually detaining people, they're now spending significant time and resources dealing with hostile crowds wherever they go.

I don't know for sure, but it could've involved his position that people in Republican strongholds need to suffer the full consequences of Trump's policies as a necessary evil for change. Some people on here have been really upset about that take.

Zohran told a synagogue than he would not discriminate against Zionist Jews, something that would be illegal as well as insanely provocative, and a bunch of high follower, brain poisoned accounts took that and NYT wish-casting about his alleged moderate turn as evidence he's a sellout.

instead they get grandmas, and priests, and inflatable frogs, and ordinary decent people rising up and saying "this is vile, this is unamerican, these are secret police"

they get kristi noem in a staring contest with a guy in a chicken suit

one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

MAGA Rage at “No Kings” Boils Over—and It Quickly Backfires on Trump
As Trump allies smear the coming protests, a good writer on MAGA skewers the absurdity of these attacks on large swaths of Americans—and explains why our best recourse will be to turn out in force.

“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.

California just banned employers from forcing workers to pay a debt, fee, or penalty to leave their job.

Bosses have increasingly been trapping workers with debts incurred in training and other exploitative fees.

Now that's illegal in the nation's biggest state.
