This book literally tackles the rise and fall of the Galactic Empire from a Historians perspective. If you’re a details guy like me (I too LOVE the X-Wing series). It does speak to events from the sequel trilogy, but it is VERY VERY good.

The Cobra/Cobra Commander origin story is much better in the comics than the cartoon.

Failed businessman who's got some charisma is able to stir people into a frenzy and inspire cult-like devotion based on distrust in the government and people who are different.

Could never happen in real life.
