Brain's too squirrelly to sleep so how about a BluedyMoos Moody Blues infodump?

Come learn about Days of Future Passed and the bizarre way this album came about.
The cover of album Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues with the London Festival Orchestra Conducted by Peter Knight.

It's a collage of colors with different representations of passing time scattered about, like the phases of the moon, a branch changing with the seasons, and an hour glass.

I had blue hair in 2000. Chuckles over there needs to catch up with the times.

After having the orchestra on Days of Future Passed the Moodies decided to only use their voices and instruments they could play on their records.

The really high vocals are John.

Thanks for pausing for some Moody Blues with me. 💙 I hope the weekend treats folks well.

Honestly, John's stuff could be a bit more proggy than Justin's at times.

This song was SO COOL to see live.

When The Moody Blues took a break from recording and performing... Justin and John made an album together and called it Blue Jays. 🤓💙

The early Moodies albums only have a few songs written by John, but as the band evolved more and more of his songs were included on their records.

John joined the Moodies about the same time as new lead singer & guitarist Justin Hayward. He played bass on stage but all the band members were multi-instrumentalists.

This is my favorite version of Ride My See-Saw.

It's an all Moody Blues doom pause tonight in honor of John Lodge.

When Denny Laine and Clint Warwick left the Moody Blues after "Go Now" one of the remaining members, Ray Thomas, reached out to an old friend and former band mate, John Lodge.

John was also one half of The Blue Jays, a collaboration between him & Justin Hayward during the break the Moodies took in the 70s.

John wrote "Ride My See-Saw", "Steppin' in a Slide Zone", and "I'm Just A Singer in a Rock n Roll Band" among other songs. 💙

So the cool thing about seeing students is they're way more open to new ways of doing things and understanding how things like D&D can help one's mental health. 😀

I like the student I saw today. I'm going to keep his info so if I want to see a graduated pro down the line I can look him up.

Psych appointment tomorrow morning which is going to be me explaining to a new student psychiatrist that, no my depression and anxiety are pretty well controlled. It's the fascism giving me trouble. And yes, I'm sure it's actual fascism and not just me catastrophizing. 🫩

If Pat Boone were still alive, he'd solve the problem by performing BB's set himself, with his patented white-keys-only sound. There's never been a tune he wouldn't entomb in mayonnaise for a few bucks.

I love my therapist, she's awesome. Psychiatrists are usually the worst normie, gaslighting, pathologizing hall monitors one can encounter.

But they hold the keys to the meds that keep me on a relatively even keel. So every six months I do this dance.
