That's so cool! Years ago I used to sit in a chair in costume, moan and groan and finally lurch to my feet from inside the walk in door to the garage. Treats were in a bucket & I was in the dark! One kid recalled my act from the previous year and had his hand on his heart in case I scared him again

Fun fact: while working food service, I could not afford medical care. I was told that if I missed work without a doctor's note (in advance, too), I'd be fired. So I worked while passing bladder stones, literally pissing blood, for 3 days. There's your "right to work" and the government not working.
