And also this goes a long way towards explaining why Oracle has recently gotten so cuddly with the ai-sphere: I suspect they're anticipating a lot of these data centers are going to be available at firesale prices soon and they're positioning to take advantage of that

Yes, them being disabled nerds matters because I think the desire to seek accommodation is a much more powerful motivation for creative problem solving than just brainstorming for potential usecases

This is based on my observations of two people with disabilities whom I trust who have made it a point of figuring out what's useful and helpful about AI day to day, and this is roughly how they're doing it: local models capturing mundane day to day info and automating boring stuff like calendars.

I think there is a future in little local personal AI models that basically act as a search engine for your life, and I imagined it as keeping a separate Mac mini in your house to handle that compute separate from your devices.

But what if that lived on the cloud instead?

Ok, so the last time we had a tech bubble we got a massive overbuild of, basically, broadband cable, which we all enjoy to this day. This time it's data centers. So if we get a good timeline, the next revolution is going to be radically cloud-based, a bad timeline means everything becomes crypto.

Someone on Twitter posted a photo of themselves doing a happy dance as they receive a hot plate of fajitas. Then "Raw Egg Nationalist" on Twitter retweets them, writing: It's incredible that these people exist, but they really do. These are the people who justify the demographic replacement of Western countries in terms of the variety of street food and how many different kinds of fried-meat-and-vegetables in flatbread they can buy.
