It’s hard to retreat, when there’s no progression. That’s the NA automotive industry. Tariffs protect a decaying industry, until 2030. By then, the Chinese will be entrenched as the global leader in EVs, all phases of it, minerals , mines, materials, battery, chemistry, software, computation!

Thank you to Tom Howell and CBC Ideas for having me on to talk through the contradiction at the heart of new Canadian pipeline projects.

Believing we can escape the consequences of expanding fossil fuels doesn’t make a 2 degree future less deadly!

Increasing housing supply is critical for moderating housing costs, but the market alone will never solve the affordable housing crisis, which is why we need continued investment in housing across the spectrum.

This campaign, I attended numerous forums where discussions centred on vitally important topics like community safety and wellbeing, and homelessness - a topic that is deeply important to me. The housing crisis in Edmonton is worsening and we need to see urgent action from all levels of government.

FTR: Our oil is cracked because it's tar. Shorter molecules are needed for valuable products, incl gas/diesel (which get burned!) Some naphtha also would be produced but the % that makes plastics that then go into EVs would be tiny. No clue how that electrifies the grid. This person earns $700k/yr?!

Albertans, government officials and organizations from across the province attended to hear Bill Heidecker, president of Alberta Surface Rights Federation condemn the province’s strategy for dealing with unprofitable wells (some 88% of oil and gas wells in Alberta).

Local government should stay local. That’s what I stand for, and that’s why I’m running for re-election as an independent. Talk to your friends, family, and neighbours about the risk party politics poses to our local democracy, and do your research before voting October 20. www.ashleysalvador.com

Hey, #Alberta here’s an option for those mature oil and gas assets that Albertans will pay to clean up.

Maybe the Alberta farmers, on whose land these hazards exist, could make some cash from the renewables, or reduce their electricity bills!

This perfectly describes AB and Conservative voters!

Many voters no longer see politics as a civic duty grounded in informed judgment. Instead, it has become a form of identity that is inherited. They vote the way their parents did out of loyalty to a label.

Water temperatures several degrees above normal span thousands of miles in the Pacific Ocean. Underwater heat waves like this can disrupt disrupts the ocean’s food web and fisheries, and alter weather on land thousands of miles away.

Hey, Doug, Stelantis just pulled out of Brampton. Oshawa’s auto industry is 10% of what it was a decade ago. Ford moved its EV production to the US. Maybe you need to rethink Chinese manufacturing, perhaps bring it to Ontario. Produce vehicles your constituents want to and ca afford to drive.
Ford says there’s ‘no damn way’ tariffs on Chinese EVs should be scrapped | Globalnews.ca
Premier Doug Ford's comments came after the premiers of Manitoba and Saskatchewan urged Ottawa to scrap electric vehicle tariffs, largely in place to protect Ontario.

The missile tech is proven. The land based mobile tech isn’t. Low probability Tomahawks see action in Ukraine before the middle of next year!

What is Trent Frederic doing? Playing on the wrong line! The push is coming from the GM!

Zone exists are different. The long hope and pray rim around the boards is dispatched! Replaced by a centre zone breakout, requiring three men back to the goal line. It’s risky, in the event of a bobble.

Interesting take on the seeming lack of enthusiasm for solid state batteries in North American car makers. Lacking the drive & competition of Chinese EV firms, they seem content to let the Chinese go 1st while staying profitable behind the US tariff wall www.jalopnik.com/1994775/gm-f...

Some automakers are calling it the future of EV powertrains, so why aren't Ford and GM stepping up to develop solid-state batteries?
