Alright, Cascadia.

First things first: there’s some Lists/Feeds that people can follow to stay up to date with what’s happening in the PNW. Going to make a thread. If you have accounts that should be added to the list, let me know. Tag them. I’ll add them so everyone can find what they need.
This makes me have less sympathy for federal workers. Now that THEY are suffering the way millions already were, we should all obey and capitulate to the regime? They should be uncomfortable. They should get off their ass and do something about that discomfort.

Yesterday marked the first formal opportunity the D.C. Council has given residents and activists to sound off on increased cooperation between MPD and ICE since President Donald Trump declared a crime emergency in mid-August.

More than 50 people signed up to speak, the maximum allowed.

sure hope no one needs anything from the strategic national stockpile, which isn't just for pandemics — it's for providing critical medical supplies for major public health emergencies in general, like chemical spills and nuclear incidents
Got a new story about a little-known HHS agency with a massive job: the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR).
ASPR gave us Operation Warp Speed.
Now it's being run by a conspiracy theorist who calls those vaccines “genocide.” www.msnbc.com/msnbc/meet-a...

ProPublica asked for comment. "The North Carolina Republican Party's communications director, Matt Mercer, responded," that ProPublica was waging a "jihad" against "NC Republicans."

Then he told them to drop the story or else, mentioning the Trump administration.

Trump’s government shutdown isn’t just political brinkmanship—it’s the biggest union-busting campaign since Reagan’s PATCO firings.

Federal workers are under attack.

Solidarity and labor militancy are the answer, writes Conor Lynch.
The Answer to Trump’s Anti-Worker Shutdown Is Solidarity and Labor Militancy
The GOP’s assault on federal employees amid the government shutdown is far more extreme than Reagan’s PATCO union busting. The labor movement needs a more effective response this time.
