I get it.

From a strategic standpoint, providing the Trump regime with additional rhetorical/operational ammunition is misguided.

It should also be understood however, that the Trump regime now regards any and all dissent as essentially treasonous, regardless of how one chooses to label oneself...

Every time you see Mike Davis do Mike Davis things, think about Gorsuch reportedly helping land Davis a job at DOJ, then choosing him as a clerk when he was on the 10th Circuit, then choosing him as a clerk when he was on the Supreme Court.

Hakeem Jeffries posted pictures of two Rep. Members posing with “Young Republicans” who were part of a racist text thread (as reported by Politico).

In response, Mike Davis (well-connected in Trump World & on the Hill) called Jeffries a “house slave” for George Soros - proving Jeffries’ point.

On the Charlie Kirk show, Vought said federal firings could hit “north of 10,000” during the shutdown.

Companies lay people off to survive. This is different. He sounded like he’s enjoying the chance to fast-track his agenda. This isn’t about saving money, it’s about sabotaging the government.

This is good: Rep Eric Swalwell tells me House Dems are now discussing making an end to mask-wearing a precondition for ICE funding.

"When we are in the majority, the masks are coming off," he says.

This is the next frontier in anti-Trump resistance.

NEW:

A dramatic voiceover video the White House and Donald Trump shared last week claiming to show "chaos" in Chicago is littered with outdated footage from Florida, Texas, South Carolina, Nebraska, California and Arizona, an AFP investigation found.

From the vault: Mike Johnson said he’d take a blowtorch to the ACA.

Here’s the thing… 45% of marketplace enrollees are Republicans. Cool! So he’s threatening to burn the GOP’s own base. 🔥

We salute the journalists who persist in their work and refuse to yield to Pete Hegseth. A dedicated press is essential for informing the American people about their government; this importance is reflected in the First Amendment, which we are sworn to protect.

Thinking that Immigration control, once the highest priority of the Trump regime, is now being leveraged as a proxy for general political dissent.

Dissent (real/imagined) is all that is required to become Trump's enemy.

Trump, Republican officials, and their right-wing media allies have laid the groundwork for an attack on core progressive and Democratic Party institutions in response to Saturday’s nationwide “No Kings” protests.

Must be talking GLCM, since refitting Ukrainian naval vessels for them would be a multi-year endeavor...

Understanding that the INF treaty no longer exists, aren't there nevertheless escalation questions around reintroducing this system (especially forward-based to Ukraine) to the European Theater.

Heard about this earlier, and my jaw didn’t drop. You know who else isn’t surprised? Pretty much every Republican.

As someone who’s been a frequent target, none of this shocks me. I don’t expect real consequences from the right because I doubt today is the first day they heard about it.

These are the faces of men who think racism, rape, and gas chambers are punchlines.

The fact that these are actual GOP officials, not trolls in a reply section, says everything about the rot inside their movement.

Tom, you and others here have convinced me that, from a strategic standpoint, trying to repurpose the term "antifa" in a positive context is misguided.

I tried to convince myself that this would be a worthwhile endeavor, but you're right...it really isn't.

I do get it.

Thanks to all of you.

It's really not about politics anymore. The apparatus of the Republican Party has simply become a haven for bad people.
