We salute the journalists who persist in their work and refuse to yield to Pete Hegseth. A dedicated press is essential for informing the American people about their government; this importance is reflected in the First Amendment, which we are sworn to protect.

Thinking that Immigration control, once the highest priority of the Trump regime, is now being leveraged as a proxy for general political dissent.

Dissent (real/imagined) is all that is required to become Trump's enemy.

Trump, Republican officials, and their right-wing media allies have laid the groundwork for an attack on core progressive and Democratic Party institutions in response to Saturday’s nationwide “No Kings” protests.
The Trump administration is positioning the upcoming No Kings protests as an excuse for crushing dissent

Must be talking GLCM, since refitting Ukrainian naval vessels for them would be a multi-year endeavor...

Understanding that the INF treaty no longer exists, aren't there nevertheless escalation questions around reintroducing this system (especially forward-based to Ukraine) to the European Theater.

The ACA favorability jumped from -10 in 2014 to +30 today, a 40-point swing.

Heard about this earlier, and my jaw didn’t drop. You know who else isn’t surprised? Pretty much every Republican.

As someone who’s been a frequent target, none of this shocks me. I don’t expect real consequences from the right because I doubt today is the first day they heard about it.

These are the faces of men who think racism, rape, and gas chambers are punchlines.

The fact that these are actual GOP officials, not trolls in a reply section, says everything about the rot inside their movement.

Tom, you and others here have convinced me that, from a strategic standpoint, trying to repurpose the term "antifa" in a positive context is misguided.

I tried to convince myself that this would be a worthwhile endeavor, but you're right...it really isn't.

I do get it.

Thanks to all of you.

It's really not about politics anymore. The apparatus of the Republican Party has simply become a haven for bad people.

I seem to recall that it was the biggest 1st Amendment attack in American history when the Biden admin alerted social media companies to some content and said "hey does this violate your policies?" Will Matt Taibbi, Michael Shellenberger and (lol) CBS News Editor in Chief Bari Weiss call this out?
Tweet from Pam Bondi:

Today following outreach from
@thejusticedept
, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target
@ICEgov
 agents in Chicago.

The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

Not only do I believe that we need to take back the American flag from MAGA, but we should also take back anti-fascism from the violent far-left/anarchist extremists who have morphed it into something negative...which it isn't.

Trump's regime is preparing to attack anyone and everyone who voices dissent and demonstrates resistance, regardless of what we choose to call ourselves.

No, I'm not stupid enough to actually wear an "ANTIFA" t-shirt, but I will happily confess to being "anti-fascist".

If that makes me "antifa"...

My insecurity comment was about the Lee Greenwood t-shirts, not taking back the flag...

And to be clear, I do not identify with the violent far-left/anarchists that call themselves "antifa". I identify with the term "antifa" ONLY in the context of its original meaning as "anti-fascist" shorthand.
