12 October 1940 | A German Jewish boy, Denny Deutsch, was born in Berlin.

In March 1943 he was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.

Good news for now. Feels an awful lot like earlier this year when a number of the people cut by DOGE were brought back.

But why would anyone stick around given all this crap? (Which may be the point elsewhere in the gov't but not necessarily with these CDC folks.)

A trend I’ve noticed after having watched too many of these despicable ICE arrest videos is when bystanders demand they let detainee go, an officer suggests they’re being picked up for a serious crime to try and deter help. But we know that’s not true of a vast majority of people and the jig is up.
cdh111.bsky.social
It's not even just that. I am honestly perplexed at how this amount of violence is not being brought up with courts. Unless I'm not hearing about the cases.

Excessive force is a thing. At least I still think it is.

New — Video shared with me shows ICE officers in DC detaining a man on Friday.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

At what point does this viciousness and brutality cross a line so that someone steps in and orders ICE/CBP/etc to stop acting like this.

And that they have to have warrants to grab people like this. Not to mention quickly moving them around the country so that families and lawyers can't find them.

Seriously, Judges *do no do things like this*

They don't give their opinion to the media

They don't criticize how SCOTUS works

This is them breaking the emergency glass, folks

My Bluesky, Facebook, and IG feed (both grid and Stories) are full of Diane Keaton right now.

I don't think there was this much posting when Redford died, but I could be wrong.

She should have ended up with Keanu Reeves in that movie. Choosing Jack Nicholson was bad.

Normally, I would not recommend a Woody Allen film. If you have never seen it, though, go watch "Annie Hall." Diane Keaton's performance (and wardrobe) in it was a touchstone for that era.

I loved her work. I am sad that she is gone now.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

If you know anyone serving in the military, make sure they understand that it is because Mike Johnson refuses to bring the House back in session, where Members could vote on a bill to ensure military are paid during the shutdown, that they are not being paid.

It's on him + DJT.

You would not fire these people—including the staff of the hugely, HUGELY important 'Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report'—if you cared at all about public health, if you wanted people to live.

And you would not let your thuggish henchmen fire people like this if you were a responsible president.

That's wild. If you know anything about ICE agents, looking scared, changing your demeanor, etc are eminently reasonable reactions
thematthill.bsky.social
Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.
