We're at the @BritishHIVAssoc Spring Conference this week! #BHIVA2025

Come say hello if you see us and to pick up a copy of our #ZeroHIVStigmaDay children's book "Activists in Action: Prudence Mabele"!
So proud of #UnheardVoices and the recommendations we offer to stakeholders across the health care spectrum.

There’s no simple solution to fee systemic issues + the other concerns respondents shared with us. We must be ready to work together for our community members living with #HIV!
Black people living with HIV still face barriers in #primarycare, from stigmatising experiences to digital exclusion.

The #UnheardVoices report highlights these issues—and how we can build a more equitable system.

So proud the teams who worked on our latest #UnheardVoices report!

Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences with us through our survey. These recommendations wouldn’t be as impactful without your contributions to this research. ✊🏾

“Real change and progress begin when we acknowledge where we can do better. Black African and Caribbean communities know what they need; it’s time for our decision-makers to act”, said @cganotakis.bsky.social, co-chair of @onevoicenetwork.bsky.social

No, Guardian. Forced displacement of a population is not “probably a violation of international law” that “some advocates liken to ethnic cleansing”. It is against international law and is ethnic cleansing. Words mean things.
Listening to @theguardian.com daily focus ep this morning and the guest keeps referring to trump’s plan to “decant” Palestinians into other countries. It’s forced displacement. It’s genocide. What is going on??
Really pleased about the conversations at our session on understanding and addressing #HIV stigma! #FastTrack2025

Key takeaways:
- education 📚
- person-centred campaigns have impact 🫂
- different messaging and mediums needed for varying ages and demographics 📱
- more awareness in the media (tv!) 📺

I was diagnosed with HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died but I was told, with the new drugs available, I could expect to live another 20 years.
That was 27 years ago.

Honour those we lost.
Celebrate that we can now treat and prevent HIV.
Make HIV stigma history.

Movements like #ZeroHIVStigmaDay encourage us to think about the immense harm stigma perpetuates — it prevents people from testing, living well, and staying on treatment. Ending HIV stigma will shatter barriers and help us achieve the 2030 goal of ending onwards transmissions. #WorldAIDSDay

Life changing medical advancements like antiretroviral therapies, PrEP, and PEP have marked a new era in how we can treat and prevent HIV transmissions.

#UequalsU is a powerful statement, but must be accompanied by action rooted in accurate information and compassion to #EndHIVstigma.

#WorldAIDSDay is a time to commemorate how far we’ve come in the journey against HIV, and to remember those we’ve lost along the way.

This year, we asked our team what the day means to them. What does it mean to you?

✍️ For World AIDS Day 2024 (today), I wrote about why a certain question needs to be totally expunged and made socially unacceptable.
