My cat is an absolute menace! She knocked over my car keys off my night stand into my laptop bag to where I couldn’t find them this morning, causing me to be late and then got her toy mouse caught on her collar. 😭

How to navigate stares from normies when you’re dressed like a cartoon.

Questions from strangers

Strangers may ask if there’s an event going on, what you’re dressed as etc. I often just tell people if it’s a simple answer, however if it’s not I have a few go-to “excuses” to avoid getting into it with people, like:
- school project
- photoshoot
- birthday party

Feeling the eyes on you

Seeing people stare at you or feeling people’s eyes on you in a public spaces can be distressing. A distraction can be helpful. I usually take out my phone and text a friend, look around on social media, play a game, call someone or PRETEND to call someone… having something to engage with makes me feel more confident.

Easier in groups

Of course there is safety in numbers, so if you can travel in a group with other cosplayers (or a non-cosplaying friend) that can feel a lot better! If you’re heading to an event connect with friends to plan the trip together.

As a non-binary person, I feel this. Finding that balance has always been a struggle but HRT has made feel not so trapped anymore.

More dangerous gender ideology at 1am:

I am not a man. I identify with parts of masculinity. I am still determining which.

I am not a woman, etc.

As my body changes from HRT, how I am interpreted by others changes, but that may contradict my birth gender and how I feel about it.

Yeah. I'll defend the TikTok girlies reading their romantasy and smut. Judging people for what they read and acting morally superior for degrading someone's sexual expression is a problem that never goes away. Sex is a part of the human experience, writing and reading about it is normal.

Went to the doctor and went to go get a psyche eval. I was recommended to go do an outpatient program but it was going to cost money I didn’t have. Asked for meds instead and only cost me $3 with my current insurance.

My piece of advice to you all. Never allow any asshole online to make you feel guilty about the fandoms and shows you like. Don’t let them
