I probably have followed west coast protest movements more than you do Tom, and no, basically no one called themselves "antifa" outside small "black bloc" circles -- which got grossly disproportionate press (including at protests I personally attended)

I'm using Gemini very successfully for a number of tasks these days, but I spent 30 minutes the other day "convincing" it that it was wrong about a specific law that is currently in force (it had access to the right info via search).

A permanent ceasefire during the Biden admin would not help Bibi keep his precarious coalition at all.

Conditions also changed and Bibi overplayed his hand with the Qatar strike.

Then demand a clearly defined prisoner exchange! Sinwar was able to operate without detection for a long time. Releasing a demand would be very low risk and/or a risk worth taking if that was really the goal.

No. Netanyahu's actions have been 100% repugnant.

I'm just saying that Sinwar's strategy (beyond maybe being purely accelerations) does not seem to have been to just take hostages for prisoner exchange.

Why would he have not made that statement or notified Hamas leadership in advance?
