“Trump’s attempt to kill his second vice president also failed. For now.”
"The 155-milimeter shell fired during the live-fire demonstration prematurely detonated over the freeway, dropping fragments on a CHP vehicle and motorcycle that were part of vice president's protective detail, according to a patrol report."
I mean, what are the odds? Honestly.
Newsom reacts to shell detonation at military exercise during Vance visit
California Governor Gavin Newsom had warned against the live fire demonstration, which would shoot artillery over a freeway.

ESSAY: "The internet changes our sense of who we’re speaking to and how our words land," writes Katherine Dee.

In her essay on the Young Republicans group chat, Dee explores how being chronically online is eroding the boundaries of decency.

Hey @nytimes.com, did you change your headline, and change "Islamophobic attacks" on Mamdani to just "attacks," because Elise Stefanik and the GOP bullied you into it? Really? Why are they no longer Islamophobic attacks, as your headline originally and correctly stated?
I am fairly close to nothing but this article is closer to nothing.
Draw distinction between “exiting poverty” and “wealth” and you’ll find that as money scales upward, the attachment binds the holder to establishment systems such that they no longer seek meaningful change in expanding freedoms, exercising voice, or demonstrating in protest.
Wealth is complacency.
When Chicken Little screamed, "THE SKY IS FALLING!!" and all the other chickens just laughed and laughed... we might consider that chickens do not have a word for "axe" and Chicken Little was doing the best he could to describe the fate of chickens with their limited lexicon.

It's weird how wealth does not liberate anyone and only serves to further limit expressions of actual freedom.

wealth leashes people
white collar pets buy new boat
power ballers' yachts
Every single famous person worth 7-8-9 digits of wealth is the literal, loyal pet of a less-famous person controlling 10-11-12 digits of wealth...

Ever wonder why so few athletes in North America have spoken about Israel's genocide in Gaza?

We did too... so we asked some to find out.

Answers include "fear of losing sponsorships," "the McCarthyist response from government,” and “Zionists gaslighting and doxxing people."

Why have so few athletes spoken about Gaza? Fear of backlash, lost sponsors and being branded antisemitic all help explain the silence

Parades are an obvious way of making people fall in line. Pride parades are special because people fall in love. Keep corporations out of parades and the result is genuine.

We’re making fun of her, but it really is beyond the pale at the White House press secretary would say this in public and it would not be a scandal.

Given how inflation changes slopes, weird how “flat” is right there in the middle of the word. Who looks at a hockey stick and thinks, “Inflation will fix this kink?”
Inflation taxes all held-wealth, but poverty feels the price pinch its assets much harder than the yacht class feels C-level variance

Again, this should be the winning argument. It won't be.
