The Democratic Party is a mechanism for turning donor millions into plebe votes for donor projects. Voters are the product, like any other modern situation where someone else pays for the service we enjoy.

You'd have to start with the courts. It's mostly been judges who overturned previous attempts at police reform. No bill passed Congress granting police qualified immunity, no bill passed to say police have no responsibility to stop a guy from stabbing you, and so on. It's all judicial invention.

Having read up on the last century and a half of "police reform", I think we have to start at the other end. Every major reform effort seems to result in the courts discovering yet more new police powers and immunities. I fear we need judicial reform first.

I grew up on a farm in Muncie a while before that, and every time the professors came out to check the box they put in our barn for golden eagles, Mr. Ross would come with them! He kept that hair under a hat in 1980's Indiana, so I didn't make the connection until years later.

The founders would have instantly identified modern militarized *local policing* as the standing army they warned against. The shocking part I think would be that most modern "patriots" would now side with the redcoats at the Boston Massacre, our brave boys in red against the dirty hippy protestors.

Stop lying. Your state cops attacked protesters alongside ICE yesterday. I was there. I and others were violently attacked by ICE agents. Your state cops acted in concert with them during the attack.

Notice that he doesn't mention the unprovoked ICE attack on protesters at Broadview—who were already complying with the commands of police—probably bc his state cops assisted in that violent attack. He prob thought he could prevent the troop deployment by helping ICE police protesters. Didn't work.
