The EPA's office that oversees clean up of toxic waste sites & responds to oil spills and other hazardous emergencies received notice on Friday that more layoffs are coming. 825+ hazardous chemical incidents occurred in the U.S. in 2021-2023. On average that's 1 every other day.WHAT COULD GO WRONG??

88% of voters—including 81% of Trump voters—support a strong EPA. Shutdowns show us what happens when EPA is weakened.
Congress must step up and fund EPA to protect our health. #ProtectEPA

My colleague @cmkelly.bsky.social describes how gutting protections from cancer-causing pollution, and slashing cancer research and treatment, threatens the health of Americans, including our kids.

Trump and RFK Jr. promised to protect kids and communities from toxic pollution, but instead they're giving polluters a free pass to emit more pollution that causes cancer, asthma and other serious health problems.

Outrageous! RFK Jr promised to hold corporate polluters accountable for poisoning our air and water. Instead the Trump administration is weakening environmental protections, giving polluters a free pass to keep polluting and hiding the data on how this harms Americans’ health.

Latinas often work in industries with positive employment growth, but their wages haven't kept up. Full-time, year round #Trabajadoras earn just 58 cents per dollar of white, non-Hispanic men resulting in >$33k/year lost to the #WageGap. #LatinaEqualPay https://ow.ly/Iht150X8Bv2
The gender wage gap for full-time, year-round workers expanded significantly in 2024 and is wider for women of color

It’s easy to feel like the sky is falling with the Trump administration's historic, unprecedented assault on clean, cheap energy.

But there’s reason for hope. We’re making progress on climate and clean energy in states all across the country.

Long thread of wins you may have missed this year 🧵👇

📈 Health care premiums are spiking in Virginia, Idaho, and Georgia.

💸 Virginia Beach: +$1,295/month
💸 Boise: +$1,472/month
💸 Fulton County: +$2,064/month

These numbers don’t lie—and families are paying the price.

In just the past year, electricity prices have jumped more than twice the rate of inflation—and this is only the beginning. The Trump administration should be protecting our wallets, not paying off his billionaire buddies.
