I sent ARCs to like. 4 people before Mercy's release. One never replied, and two read through it, but then they loved it so much and talked it up enough that it had a pretty explosive start. It is SO important (shoutout Grapie and Zack fr)

- announced they would once more block aid

Elren can breathe underwater, but that's not something he finds out later in the story. Was also the only kid able to swim—the only body of "water" was a muck pool, though, but he managed to survive it when tossed inside it.

Oleen is an oarfish-inspired mermaid of mysterious origins. Her dying grandmother left her egg with a very surprised human, and only a select group of humans know about her.

Kip and Ayel are from a short story, Ayel is a siren with magic thrall and Kip is low on self-preservation. (forgot alt text)

Giônohà has the tâinùn of Achalma, the Underwater Kingdom of Phoisáng, God of the Seas and Alcohol. They're a species of merfolk that are, of course, also half-plant, their hair made of algae and flowers blooming along their tails. A reclusive sort, though one can find them sunbathing on the coast.

I still need to decide on a species name, but Morgan's first companion, Eve, gradually grows into a more mermaid-y form after beginning as kind of like a small doll.

She's a sweet creature compared to the rest of his hellions that protec the precious boi.

There's all sorts of sapient life in the seas of Spider's Friend. The only peeps you get to meet are a giant jellyfish magician and several Safai, who look more like turtles than Ariel. They communicate with dance and give their dead to a massive eldritch crustacean they call Devourer

I develop adult video games on Steam. I can't find a bank that will actually let me withdraw my money from Steam. Can I get some advice?
Game has sold quite well on Steam. I've got almost £90,000 ready to withdraw after Steam's cut + VAT taken off.

However, it's been 2 months now and I can't find ANY bank in the UK who will let me withdraw my money from Steam.

I've been banned/refused/unable to get a business account with:

Wise
Revolut
Monzo
Monese
Chase
Starling
Nationwide
Halifax
Barclays
Lloyds
RBS

It always comes down to, "Where did you get this money from?"

"It's coming from games I sell on Steam."

"Can we see the store page?"

"Sure."

"I'm sorry, we can't do business with you at this time."

It keeps coming down to a commercial decision purely because I make adult content.

What the hell am I supposed to do? I've pretty much exhausted the whole banking system. I just want to be able to be paid for products I've sold.

the constant need to monetize fanfic is going to be what sends it into a second ice age rivaling anne rice's original tirades, and trad publishers who keep pushing the line of republished fic (esp wrt RPF or that use people's likeness for covers w/o permission) are going to be a BIG part of it

the protagonist isn't always the hero. they are just the person the book is about. sometimes authors write books about people who are bad and it does not mean that the author is bad
