Final release is Jan 6 for the CD, no confirmation on vinyl date, but they’ve confirmed it’s coming. Most importantly we are living in the world where Act III is real, and despite all the horrors that is a joy to cling to.

They’re putting out one or two tracks a week on Bandcamp if you preorder! So far we have three interludes which are fine, but also a retooled Hold Back The Night which is peak Protomen, a definitive No Way Back which has clunky lyrics but is musically A*, and Buried In The Red which is the Wily song

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

The Independent has made this the headline item because it's the obvious dog whistle, but the real challenge for migrants is going to be either £41.7k or the going rate "whichever is highest." There are entire industries - including creative - that this knocks out entirely.

It’s absurd on its face. I have A-level English, I have an entire degree in English! Outside of technical language you don’t need to use unless you’re working in the field it’s not like they teach you secret words. There are no extra letters of the alphabet we’re keeping from the rest of you!
