Going to start a list of every program, agency, board, etc. that I can find that we know have been DOGEd out of existence. (You can also just check in with @kellylsmith.bsky.social at UCSD, where she maintains an exhaustive list of acronyms and links, including monthly data on who's been 404d).

More judges speak to the press (the NYT) about what a disaster the Supreme Court (specifically the shadow docket) has been - “incredibly demoralizing & troubling”; a “judicial crisis”; a “slap in the face to district courts.” www.nytimes.com/2025/10/11/u...

And now CISA, America’s front line for digital security (and a showpiece of Trump I until they refused to lie about election security) is packed up and unceremoniously shoved towards the exit.

I don't know if there's such a thing as a "world cyberwar" but I think we are in one? and the US is determined to lose it. 🧵

Today the admin is mass-firing the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the nation's cybersecurity protection across all levels of government.

To be fair to his thesis, you /can/ significantly reduce the size of the government when you just outsource the police power to bigoted violent lynch mobs.

“Which way, Western man,” when the wrong answer is “sizzling plate of skirt steak and vegetables on a tortilla” and the right answer is “one raw egg.”

going by the decor, is this not TGI Fridays?
Someone on Twitter posted a photo of themselves doing a happy dance as they receive a hot plate of fajitas. Then "Raw Egg Nationalist" on Twitter retweets them, writing: It's incredible that these people exist, but they really do. These are the people who justify the demographic replacement of Western countries in terms of the variety of street food and how many different kinds of fried-meat-and-vegetables in flatbread they can buy.

I see we’re at the “disappearing news media” stage of things already.

Both NY senators voting for this, a measure designed entirely to put the onus on House Democrats, is emblematic of party fecklessness at the highest levels.

1. Last night, 26 Senate Dems helped pass a NDAA containing a military trans sports and surgery ban and dropped demands for protections against US troop deployments in the bill.

It is the latest in the national fight over must-pass bills during the shutdown.

The bill passed by a wide margin in the Senate and will be the starting point for negotiations with the House, which contain more severe anti-trans riders.

At this point they’re working so hard to hide the files it’s reasonable to assume they’re very bad, that the political layer believes they can’t hide the damning evidence, and they think that once it comes out it’s going to dominate everything else and make it impossible to carry out Miller’s plans.

A few minutes ago in the House:

- Speaker Mike Johnson officially cancels votes next week, extending the House recess through a fourth week

- House Republicans block Democrats from passing a bill to pay the troops during the shutdown, ensuring they will miss paychecks next week
House Press Gallery: During today's pro forma session, the Clerk read a message from the Speaker designating Tuesday, October 14 through Sunday, October 19 as a district work period. Punchbowl's Briana Reilly: House gaveled in and out of its pro forma just now w/o recognizing Rep Elfreth, who was seeking to UC a mil pay bill from Rep Sykes.

Elfreth told reporters after that House Dems stand “ready and willing to take” up standalone legislation to pay troops.

“Small power surrounded by middle powers” is a tough hand to play, better to have a major power as a friendly for that.

And Singapore’s probably a good proxy for understanding what Qatar wants: not an alliance, but a partnership they can balance with regional powers like Iran, use to keep rivals within the GCC slightly off-balance, and maintain US involvement in the region that might otherwise get redirected.

Is it a concern that so many SV billionaires who abruptly pivoted into military and police/intelligence technology are also members of a heretical apocalyptic techno-religious cult that seeks to overthrow the secular world order? Maybe!

Singapore’s already doing their F-15s out of Mountain Home, so makes perfect sense to base those new Qatari-block fighters there for training. Also an indication Trump isn’t gonna try to push Congress to approve F-35 sales to SoQ.

convolver.bsky.social
Yeah, it’s actually a fairly strong if oblique message to Israel regarding the airstrikes, plus probably an indication SoQ isn’t getting F-35s, since that’s an F-15 training base. This is literally the most, maybe only, competent and normal thing this administration has done in the past nine months.
convolver.bsky.social
At a guess, this is probably going to look like the formal Euro training centers at Holloman and Sheppard AFBs, with an eye towards integrating their new F-15s into a US-centric common operating picture. MUO’s already being used for US and Singapore F-15s, so makes sense to use it for SoQ training.

They were supposed to be embargoed until 9 a.m. tomorrow, but Reuters has a story up. (They may have gotten them from a different source)

This is, however, as far as I know the first time the Committee has awarded a Prize that could directly trigger a major military conflict, so that’s interesting.
