How did I end up on MTG Bluesky?
I haven't played MTG in about a decade. I gave away all my cards at the start of covid.
Why am I not allowed to wear a tie without a blazer?
Seems like they're trying to ruin my creativity.

#DnD advice: Hide your GM's books so they can't look anything up that would stop your super cool idea.
Hey! I work with a lot of trans folks (actually starting a mutual aid org chapter here.) Even though I'm in Chicago, feel free to DM me with any questions and I'll see if theres similar resources in your area.
Thank you! I have run the 3 one shots before, so it's just a matter of finishing the event description.
I should have them in by Friday.
Thanks to a fellow Gamehole Con attendee, I just registered for @conofthenorth.bsky.social
I have 3 events in mind that I definitely want to submit, and 1-2 more that I'm debating on submitting.

Now to see if anyone wants to be roommates!
Why 18+ tables should be the norm in TTRPG spaces:

Over the weekend I was at a table with 3 adults and 2 teens.
The minute we all sat down, one of the teens exclaimed "this is the first table I've been at where nobody was old!"
The teen then told us that gray hair = old.
What's old to him?

20.
Someone was trying extra hard to convince me to stay home today. (I have to take the car to the mechanic)

At least he's enjoying his #GameholeCon plushie
How do I know I've shifted out of the recent depressive funk?
6am emails that are not for work!
I definitely will be going back. But in a GM-first role. And only running daytime games. No sessions with a 10pm start.
I was definitely expecting more people at your panel. Unfortunately all panels were really poorly attended. I went to 6 and the "biggest" one had 15(?). Most have 4-7 people.

I was lucky enough to fill my schedule with non-D&D games. But they were mostly in loud crowded halls.
I want to give a special Monday night shout out for @ghostcandle.bsky.social and their game Here;

That game fucked me up in such a good way that I've brought it up with my therapist for my last 3 sessions.
Told my boss about my weekend. His response? "Have you ever thought about writing a game?"
It depends on how you feel about it.

There is a masculine version of my deadname. I personally hate it. When I change my name, I'm going to keep the initial, but change the rest (and still go by my middle name.)

FWIW, I have been going by my (gender neutral) legal middle name for years.
Fighting the urge to write a Pigeons Eleven module about this.
I think it's awesome they can still do heists in France. That shit rocks. It's like 40% of the reason to even have a museum
Thank you! That was my gut feeling, but also don't want to accidentally commit a faux paus.
Ettiquite question for indie TTRPG peeps:
Should you ask the game designer if you want to run a game of theirs at a con, or is it not necessary?

I know some games (especially zine sized) are deeply personal. Plus, idk if they'd want to know so they could ensure copies are sold at the con.
This was a really good write-up. Gamehole was so culturally different than any other con I've seen you at, and I think your analysis does a great job of highlighting what those differences mean from a vendor perspective.
This movie was one of my favorite childhood movies. I can't remember much of the movie, but Tim Curry's character is the one thing that I do remember pretty clearly.
They cast Tim Curry as the embodiment of pollution and rot wanting to destroy the rainforest, gave him a song number, and of course he's the sexiest part of that damn movie. youtu.be/hr4knvNNgtU?...
