Outside the red line of the application, the route requires three 90° turns to use a parallel crossing for the onward connection to get to the industrial estate.

Why is the UK so bad at this?

A T-junction with the side road to the top and the main road left-right. There is a parallel crossing to the left of the side road and people cycling are on the left of the side road and then turn right, left and left again to the bottom of the main road; three 90° turns.

A fine turnout (55 of us) today for the 12 mile Beating the Bounds (Tour de Stortford) ride this morning. There were no yellow jerseys but plenty of orange ones.
Superbly organised by Bishop's Stortford Town Council with support from Bishop's Stortford Independent and the local police.
