I still say 'Human-caused Global Warming' when talking about it because I know that a scientific nomenclature convention applies to all of science, not just when it's convenient, and you don't know, or care about it because of "blah, blah, blah..."

Just checking to see if embedded emissions in Australian fossil fuel exports are now included in Australia's emissions reduction target and that historical anthropogenic emissions are included in the target too...

Miners to get an early look at Labor’s new green laws

Tom Rabe
WA political correspondent
Oct 12, 2025 – 3.26pm

The Albanese government will give mining companies and other stakeholders draft extracts of its environmental protection laws before they go to parliament, as Environment Minister Murray Watt tries to rebuild trust after earlier negotiations on the reforms collapsed in acrimony.

...anyway, look where Another Liberal Party (ALP) are today. A total mess, lost at sea in their greed fueled rage.

When Watt cites “Safeguard Mechanism as an effective way of controlling emissions”, you should know SM only applies to direct (scope 1) GHG emissions of 🇦🇺's largest emitters

SM doesn't cover emissions produced from 🇦🇺’s Coal+Gas exports that make up ~80% of 🇦🇺’s contribution to global emissions 1/

EXTRAORDINARY HEAT IN JAPAN: 35C!
This is the most extreme event in Japanese history.
October records pulverized (see list below).

Also incredible hot nights with Mins up to 28C (above July average):
28.0 Izena
26.2 Yakushima

Much hotter next week!

Where on the meme did Woody Allen touch you?

Don't let the common name fool you. I've seen Mistletoe birds eating Solanum americanum, Stephania japonica var. discolor and Schinus terebinthifolius. I suggest a common name change "fruit bird"....

Every time the government accepts money from the gambling industry, it increases its debts to companies whose business models are based on preying on young and vulnerable people, and doing them harm.

The Albanese government does this again and again.

Another Liberal Party not "shite-lite".

Imagine kicking the former national rugby captain out of your sports club instead of the gambling lobby.

To paraphrase Groucho Marx, who'd want to belong to a club that would accept Responsible Wagering Australia as one of its sponsors?

Making his point for him -- just asking about the power of the gambling lobby gets Senator David Pocock booted from sports club the Prime Minister heads. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Just so we’re clear: Labor is choosing to work with the worst possible party on environmental issues, instead of the Greens and teals who actually want environmental regulation.
And Watt is already admitting it won’t have a climate trigger …
Watt nears deal with Coalition to finally overhaul environment laws
Environment Minister Murray Watt will sit down with his Liberal counterpart Angie Bell today, with quiet optimism in both parties that a deal might soon be struck to finally rewrite Australia's "broke...
