I have a grant that gives a colleague a small amount of salary support to lead the @3wishesprogram.bsky.social at a safety-net hospital. She told me she used that $$ to grant a wish--she got a plane ticket for a young patient dying of refractory leukemia to go back to his home country. Oh my heart

I agreed to be on an #NIH study section, but have been thoroughly swamped with clinical duties. I'm now freaking out after realizing how much work I have left (I've reviewed 1 of 7 assigned grants). The reviews are due soon but will the gov't be even opened by 10/23 for the study section to convene?
