It's weird. There were just no clues that this is what he was like.

Johnson refused to answer specific questions or to provide factual denials to allegations of rule-breaking, while insisting all the rules had been followed at all times. His responses led Acoba’s chair, Isabel Doverty, to find him in breach of the rules.

"Acoba has used the sole mechanism it has to enforce the rules: a letter to the Cabinet Office."

I'm amazed that Johnson would risk breaking the rules in the face of such severe sanctions.

Yes. I think what he and others are really frightened of is that education might teach people to think critically ... And once we can do that, we have the tools to challenge the vicious/false/ misleading/disingenuous/etc claptrap that Farage and his like keep on delivering

I don't even know what that word means any more ...

How does he continue to get away with spouting this utter tripe? Always attacking never praising. Most teachers I know work their backsides off to support the kids in their class, doing the most they can with fewer and fewer resources. They don't have the time or inclination to poison anyone's mind

Pritzker: “This is a convicted felon…who is threatening to jail me. This guy is unhinged. He's insecure. He's a wannabe dictator. And there's one thing I really want to say to Donald Trump: If you come for my people, you come through me. So come and get me.”

Another day.

Another presidential threat to jail two of his political opponents.

What will it take for Republicans in Congress to speak out?

While we still have a democracy left.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Direct comparisons with the 1930s are ahistorical and unhelpful: 2025 simply is not 1930s Germany. BUT what we can look at are patterns. And on the basis of those patterns we absolutely can see common trajectories here. I would also urge everyone again to remember that death camps and … 1/2

Heseltine at the Tory conf:

"Fascists of the 30s are back... Trump's language coincides with words here... The immigrant has replaced the Jew as the problem. We must make clear we will never have any part in the populist extremism of Farage... We don't need Trump's mouthpiece anywhere near No. 10.”

Not just NHS.
That's the thing with anti-immigration policies, as well as harming migrants themselves, they harm everyone. Undermining infrastructure and industries inevitably causes a decline in services and additional job losses for non-migrants as a knock on.

Mourning those murdered by Hamas isn't incompatible with mourning those murdered by the Israeli state.

Demanding that the hostages return isn't incompatible with naming & demanding an end to genocide.

Naming the power imbalance & impact thereof doesn't desecrate those murdered two years ago today.

Here is a thing that I hear from *almost every British Jew I know* but have barely heard expressed in any of these programmes: No single person has done more to make Jewish people globally less safe than Benjamin Netanyahu.

Yup, chaos, corruption and cruelty - not to mention complete disregard for law and due process ... I'm sure the Tory party can style it out
