Yeah, wait for Northern Idaho to to find out about this.
danmartin7.bsky.social
Who else rejected it?

Lee Greenwood and his 5th wife who's like 30 years younger. I'm seeing a pattern here.

These articles are part of the whole "let's do a fascism grift because it's so profitable" that Americans believes they can dip their toes in without going full Nazi.

This is pure inspiration

This sounds like a podcast. The American government is now a podcast. "There are two studies out there, bro. They say it is highly likely, dudes."

This is not sustainable. We're already being asked to do too much. We're unable to hire enough staff from budget cuts so everyone is doing 2 jobs & now universities are relentlessly pushing AI without any concern of the consequences to the learning community. It's breaking the soul of learning.
danmartin7.bsky.social
Universities are going to destroy learning and critical thinking if they keep making deals with AI companies that put these tools in front of students who have nothing to lose. Faculty across the nation are now wasting hours trying to curb AI use that their university manufactures and promotes.

It's wild that people bring down the hammer on plagiarism but have Zero to say about AI stealing everything without any consequences.

A rip off degree is when the government forces everyone to go into debt for 30 years to get educated. Claiming any form of education is a rip off shifts the blame for joblessness and low wages onto students and colleges instead of the evisceration of federal funding for higher ed.

Calling English a 'rip-off degree' is one of the most blatant exhibitions of personal barbarism I've ever seen. You've demonstrated nothing but the poverty of your own mind.

America has been stealing labor forever. That's literally what it does. This country is rich because it steals land and labor. That's not new.
danmartin7.bsky.social
Just monitoring a fake crisis that will require federal troops with weapons. America is super fun.

Every single professional development session this term is about AI and it's so annoying. It's just a bunch of people overreacting to the implementation of AI and rushing to be on the front line even though all of this is so terrible for students and the environment.

The news will not cover ICE brutality.

It's not even recognizable from those good ole days.

If you are a supporter and reader of @contingent-mag.bsky.social one of the biggest things you can do to help us at the moment is get this CFP to the NTT folks in your life. The fracturing of social media has made it very difficult to get the word out esp. to adjuncts and VAPs.
CFP: A Time of Monsters
The monster has been here all along. It is a historical constant that manifests in wildly different ways across time, place, and culture. Whatever form it takes, the monster claws at categories; it un...

I have concerns abt students going into classes that allow & promote AI use & then going into classes that do not. I'm not sure they will fully understand those mixed messages.

And then there are like 20 assistant coaches making at least 6 figures, and a lot of it is tax money too.

That moment you realize you could pay over a thousand adjuncts' salaries for a semester with the money a title I university spends on their football coach 🫠

No one in higher ed wants this garbage, but they continue to shove it down our throat. To suggest AI can replicate what professors actually do is the real joke. They think higher ed is a Disney Resort and faculty are just activities directors who need to smile & serve.

It's wild to hear all the conservative college grads complain abt higher ed without acknowledging that they entered college as a conservative & left even more conservative. But somehow college is now a place for liberal indoctrination, except for all the people who graduate and become neoliberal.

ICE gives a $50,000 sign on bonus and loan forgiveness. Now imagine if they did that for educators and spent our money on education instead of terrorizing US citizens.
danmartin7.bsky.social
Another really annoying part of this is it's just vocational additon. An English or Comm degree will give students knowledge abt rhetorical and design theory and teach them how to think abt and create textual communication forever.

THIS IS AN ENGLISH OR COMMUNICATIONS DEGREE! JUST DO THOSE INSTEAD JESUS IN HEAVEN
