This is my tribute to season 13 of classic DW in particular, and the Hinchcliffe era (seasons 12 to 14) generally.

There's an event in Blackpool in November at which they say they'll be providing further information.

I understand the scepticism. I think this is somewhat more legit than the usual rumour mill, but either way, we won't have to wait long.

His comment about the ants really does refute itself. I mean, if it was really difficult to cross the distances, then asking why they come here is a valid point, but he presupposes tech that makes that travel simple and quick, so...why not come here?

AI becoming self-aware and wiping us out is a very remote possibility.

Nuclear war wiping us out is a possibility.

Climate change is a certainty, it's happening now and it's accelarating. The warming trajectory we are on now is an extinction one, for humans and for a lot of other life.

It's pretty wild to me that investigators have uncovered that anti-trans campaigns are largely funded by the fossil fuel industry, and that the presumed motivations are pretty directly to redirect the public conversation away from climate change... and that this isn't bigger news.

Ok, how much excess heat has been absorbed by the oceans and how do you propose to get rid of it?

It will have an effect on climate for hundreds if not thousands of years.

I think there's no way we fix this, but that we have to try everything we can, because we're not alone on this planet.
