Depends on the size of the UBI, but getting my own place and covering living expenses- food, rent, utilities- would obviously be the first priority.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

No, this is a valid criticism of capitalism actually, because the reason many people are doing that is that they need to do so to acquire a wage to trade for their subsistence, without which there's a strong chance they'll be unable to survive. Wage labor is characteristic of capitalism.
