what about those of us who wanted to go on a multiple year martial arts journey and returned with a 'curse' that turned us into a girl? there's probably at least three of us.

I mean, at least if you play the lottery, you have a real chance of winning something.

It's wild that everyone knows the current investment in datacenters for 'AI' is a bubble but they still keep investing in it because 'it's a gamble and if AGI is achieved it will pay off'.

I'd compare it to playing the lottery, but playing the lottery may be a better investment.

To contextualize just how old Ugarit was when the city was abandoned, imagine if Uruk (from the Epic of Gilgamesh) was still around today.

No state, no kingdom, and no empire has existed a tenth as long as that city did.
mel.bzky.team
fun fact about the crushing weight of human history: the city of Ugarit was abandoned ~3000 years ago. previously to this, it was continually inhabited for >7000 years. and the people who settled it would have ALSO understood themselves as the inheritors to a history that is now totally lost to us

fun fact: the more people who buy this frog costume, the harder it is for the feds to track down who wore it to a protest.

And, you know, it IS halloween soon...

'Listen, these people with their peace prizes, they're really very sad- they don't know what they're doing, they just do whatever ANTIFA tells them to do- so you can't even be mad at them. But you know, we can do it better, we can make a better prize, and everyone will want it, just wait and see."
sovereignbeast.bsky.social
ok but how long do we think it's gonna take for Trump to go 'I didn't want the Nobel Peace Prize anyway, I'm making a new prize- the best prize, really- and calling it the Noble War Prize' or something like that

I think democrats are genuinely unprepared for an administration which treats them the same as actual leftist groups, much less the way that's going to radicalize their base.

but yeah those three are much more in line with what I expect of 'ai art' of historical figures lol

I did find some openly LIM 'portraits' of him that are uhhhhh, you have to see it to believe it lol
sovereignbeast.bsky.social
idk, it could be but it could also just be painted using the statue of him as reference? I can't find any other reference to it, but idk if that's just because I'm bad at searching lol

look them dead in the eye and say 'ok, if you really want to lose to Republicans, you do you' and then leave the conversation
sovereignbeast.bsky.social
you joke but top level endurance athletes (think marathon runners etc) will drink what is more or less specifically formulated sugar water, and can take in up to like 100 grams of sugar per hour of running during competitions.

See, the thing is, there's a doctrinal difference between ML and MLM which allows MLs to say 'oh yeah China isn't really communist' and MLMs to say 'oh yeah the USSR wasn't really communist' but neither is actually willing to say the same thing about both, just the one they don't personally support.
sovereignbeast.bsky.social
It's a really straightforward calculus here- if Democrats don't want Republicans to win, they need to put forward a candidate who will earn popular support.

There's no cheat, or hack, or campaign that can get around this. They have to either put up, or shut up.

Or do they want Republicans to win?
sovereignbeast.bsky.social
it strikes me that turning 'do you want Republicans to win' back on Newsom supporters is a pretty solid rhetorical strategy.

Like, we all know that there are a bunch of people who will absolutely refuse to vote for Newsom. I'm one of them. So if the Democrats don't want to lose, they can't run him.

This means there is a literal performance benefit to drinking more sugary gatorade over zero-calorie gatorade if you're drinking it while working out- though, obviously, this is less true if your goal is weight loss rather than performance.
sovereignbeast.bsky.social
One of the funniest things about sports nutrition is that a lot of athletes benefit *significantly* from specifically having sugar during their workouts- which is why sports drinks tend to be so high in sugar. Sugar, after all, is what fuels your muscles. If you're fuelling them, they can work more.

the reason for this is that I remember encountering a fanfic with like, a solid 60% of the Dumbledore/Grindelwald backstory a couple years before any of that stuff released, and while I couldn't (and still can't) recall the name I was still like 'wait... this is familiar' when I saw it in the books.
sovereignbeast.bsky.social
ok so I rarely talk about this but I'm actually convinced that Rowling read HP fanfic and found one of those edgy twist fanfics that are like 'hey you know how Dumbledore is famous for killing an evil wizard? what if secretly they fucked' and was like 'this is canon now'
