Absolutely. Storytelling has always been about communication between humans, AI pushers overlook fundamental human need for connection with other humans. A story hits home because it comes from another human’s mind and we feel seen and part of a broader human experience

I don't say this to be fatalist, rather to move the conversation on. We're past this point. It's too late. The government has had many opportunities and won't do it. Dismantle corporate capitalism or this the inevitable media future

I think we need a Royal Commision into the media landscape in Australia with a view to ensuring balanced reporting, removal of propaganda and the media role in challenging any blatant lies by politicians and corporates.

A royal commission is simply a pointless exercise nowadays.

Most are toothless, with tame commissioners appointed and with severely limited terms of reference.

They are an easy way for a government to feign care while deferring action for years, and then ignore any recommendations they don't like.
