The dismantling of Science in #Australia continues...

I remember that hopes were high in 2022 that the new Labor Government would end the decade-long decline. We are now in the second #Albanese term, and things are worse than ever.

"many western states assumed [the ICC] would be used only against their enemies or powerless nations. That this assumption no longer holds is itself a measure of western decline. Waging a campaign against judges who apply the law consistently will not arrest that fall. It will accelerate it."

"the Australian govt has at all times known that the current Nauruan president and key members of his government are seriously corrupt, and they still signed a $2.5 billion deal with him."

'Turning a blind eye' is polite. On the face of it, ministers knowingly engaged with a corrupt regime. #auspol

It's also a recipe for PTSD down the track, for these poor children.

The US is lawless and broken.
Kids as young as 3 and 4 years old are being hauled into immigration court in Seattle and read their rights.

They’re being told they have the right to an attorney despite having no capacity to hire one or understand what that means.

As Rep Jayapal says, that’s not due process… it’s a farce.

"since the ceasefire, 280 Palestinians were killed, 672 were injured and 571 bodies were retrieved from under the rubble. According to UNICEF, this includes at least 67 children killed in “conflict-related incidents” since 10 October 2025, at a rate of two a day."

This not a "ceasefire".

A stupid and unjust entangling of policing and welfare.

The Albanese govt should put their time and effort into things that would make a real difference:
fixing the ineffective job provider scheme, and getting rid of the cruel and counterproductive 'mutual obligation' system. #poverty #auspol

Would be great to see attention brought to bear on restructuring (cuts?) at the Australian Research Council too

Why these attacks on science in the public interest in Australia❓ Who does this serve❓

I fear we are about to get some repackaged "One Nation vomit" pretending to be LNP immigration policy. #auspol
Sometimes you have to call these One Nation attacks on migrants out for what they are 🤮

Labor & LNP have had a unity ticket on housing and tax policy that's created the #HousingCrisis.

The Albanese govt must bring in necessary reforms, and stop tinkering around the edges.

Doing nothing is not just reinforcing the status quo.
It means things will get even worse. #inequality #auspol
Did you know the definition of ‘housing stress’ is when 30% of your household income is taken up by your rent or mortgage?

This isn’t normal.

If Merrick Garland had done his job properly, this would also be Trump.
November 26, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Trump is a Russian asset as much as [or more than] Witkoff.

In normal times, with a functioning Congress, Witkoff would be fired and Trump would be impeached.
The entire world can clearly see that Putin owns Steve Witkoff and yet Witkoff is the one that Trump wants leading the negotiations on a peace deal. If Putin owns Witkoff, and Trump doesn’t care, that means Putin owns Trump - either directly, by proxy, or by stupidity.
