I guess this is my #gamedev kickoff post? Nothing exciting yet and don't expect too much - it's a deep personal passion project I am doing with the help of master artist @alexconnolly.bsky.social and music wizard @skele.bsky.social. More info soon.

One of my favorite ongoing features for Remap is Steam Vent, where we purposely play games in the "new releases" category that are getting played by almost no one. We'll try anything—unless we see the AI disclosure. Then, you'll get skipped. End of story.
Something that ran through my head as I saw descriptions for Steam Next Fest games: if the project uses gen AI, it’s an instant skip

Yes, even if it’s “just” for store assets

However it’s intended, it LOOKS like an active gap in your craft, and there’s infinite other games to spend my time on
Go play that game! It will get a 45% discount today on Steam update time as well. Great fun, highly overlooked game.
Ah, sweet. The surprisingly good Starship Troopers RTS just got another big free update. A horde/survival mode.

A while back the original campaign got an update with tweaked missions and new units too.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command on Steam
Lead the Mobile Infantry in this RTS game set in the Starship Troopers film universe. Balance your army composition with a diverse set of unit types, overcome line-of-sight and line-of-fire challenges...

This is damning though. "In fact, our aim is that our designers should be able to teach agents without input from engineers or animators at all."

So, getting rid of engineers and animators? The interview states clearly, that getting rid of positions/jobs is the goal.

I think I never posted about my Weird West first person mod on here. It's pretty sick, I did a video about it

"AI AND CREATIVITY" chart, which single purpose is to show how AI erases creativity.
Dead Space and Call of Duty’s Glen Schofield says he’s been experimenting with generative AI for 2 years and believes it can help ‘fix’ the games industry.

“AI isn’t here to replace us, it’s here to make us better, faster, and more efficient,” he says. “It’s a tool”.

As you may have seen, we're tinkering with a potential sequel to Sublevel Zero! Currently at early tech demo status, with literally thousands of enemies on screen at hundreds of fps. #6DoF #roguelike #indiegame

Holy shit someone uploaded the entire stage play adaptation of the Yakuza videogame series with English subtitles and it’s glorious and 500x better than the Amazon show youtu.be/Z2Msr4si6dU?...

What I expected from Atomfall was British Fallout. What it’s actually doing is a fascinating verb-based investigative RPG??

You “level up” by exploring, and choosing when and how you deploy information. And when that finally clicked, it produced one of my favorite games in years. Don’t sleep on it

Haha, I really like Morrison.
Very good game, one of my favourites back then. Bets Descent for me!
Love the demo, I can't wait for the full game.
*and Affinity, if this suspiciously vague tease continues to walk and quack like a stolen image of a duck.
And that's the first game finished in October. That one was on my list for a long time. Well done @rockpocketgames.bsky.social and @funcom.com !

Check out Heroes of Science and Fiction on Steam! It is in early access, but very promising HOMM3 clone!
