A fellow told me his son worked at the Pfister in Milwaukee. He'd see La Russa when the Cardinals came through. The kid called him "Mr. La Russa" and La Russa wouldn't accept it, saying that was his father. The kid by the rules had to do it anyway. He also remembered the kid's name.

Returning to the question of humor, it's fine. Reagan used it. Bill Clinton. Franklin Delano Roosevelt. But no one ever rode it to the top. A lot of people thought "Jon Stewart SLAMS Bush!" would lead to President Kerry. They never learn.

Newsom wants to set up a Clinton-Sanders situation. But he isn't a drop in the bucket compared to Mrs. Clinton as a politician, and the left isn't the left of ten or even four years ago. The regular Democrat has moved left.

Newsom turns Trump's online ways back on him. Which would be fine if the whole country lived on here and watched Maddow, but they don't. If it amuses anybody it's them alone. There might be something to if he didn't fall ass-backwards into alienating the left, but there we are.
