This to me remains the ultimate meme on this
This point cannot be brought up frequently enough. States have got to do an end run past the Insurance Industrial Complex & establish MFA, NOW -- paying providers for *actual healthcare* COSTS LESS than scammy jacked-up insurance premiums.

This is the next boycott we need.
Exactly right. Fighting to keep premiums from spiking is good, but they should really be fighting to truly fix this broken system. #MedicareForAllNOW
😡😡😡😡 Reagan & his hyper-self-reliant cowboy fairytale. I wonder if the dementia turned him into a stingy elitist monster, or did his deteriorating brain amplify villainy that was always there. Or it made him more malleable to the gd heritage fdn/ FedSoc sociopaths to worm their way in. Or all of it.
Me too. A recent grad, I barely slipped thru a hiring freeze to start my career the month space shuttle Challenger exploded. Reaganomics trickle-down BS was already in motion, just in time to siphon the life out of the American dream on a slow drip. Shocked by Dems' timid 'incremental change' policy
I'm grateful for people paying attention rn, who see what's happening & how to counter. Even more, we need those who clearly see the past: what we (supposedly) had, & where it fell short of promise. It's time to reimagine what we really want, to avoid the flaws that enabled the mess we're in now.

Hey now, we in the USA pay big money for those death panels.

🤔🤔🤔

Is this an example of that old saying, "You get what you pay for"? 😳
Take it from someone whose wife worked for years as an accounting manager at a hospital - 'death panels' have existed for many decades. But for some reason we call them 'insurance companies.'

If the GOP doesn’t want tax dollars going to food, healthcare, housing, ed, SS, veterans’ care, housing, research, science, art, infrastructure, transit, childcare, the environment, public broadcasting, diplomacy, regulatory agencies, or job training… WTF are we paying them for?
Food banks would gladly take these as donations, as people look there for their pets' food as well as for their human family members.
How is your original comment helpful?

Nobody here is getting anything new from you that they don't already see for themselves, Captain Obvious.
Condolences on your lack of reading comprehension. But do go off on your tirade fighting against what I never said. 🙄
Excellent news re: SNAP program, albeit at the 11th hour. Looking forward to seeing a strong swift follow-up by the courts to ensure that canks follows through.
It's defeatist when your comment appears to accept fascism as being here to stay, with no indication of any sense of resistance at all.
What?!? Hochul, you shock and disappoint me with that blatant subservience to wealthy donors while pretending it's to "help" the middle class. This is not the way.

Remember when Texas Dems broke quorum & in response TX AG Paxton & Gov Abbot demanded their arrest & removal from office?

Under Speaker Johnson, Congress has been in session only 12 of last 100 days, absent since Sept 19, & he still won't swear in Rep-elect Grijalva.

Rules for thee but not for me.
Yes, words do matter. So use them appropriately & correctly. The 1st step is to understand what they actually mean. As long as you cling to the idea that socialism is some kind of dirty word, it's a nonstarter.

I've no interest in continuing this, but I hope you're able to study more history.
You're so close to getting it. Yet, a near miss is still a miss. And a costly one at that.

With SNAP on the verge of running out of money, a critical reminder that people who rely on food stamps make far healthier grocery choices than most of us do.
People on food stamps make healthier grocery decisions than most of us
Which is why we shouldn't tell them what to buy.

😭 or hoping I'd wake up from what surely must be a horrible nightmare
