I remember liberals pointing out to anyone who would listen that the 2000 and 2016 were the most important elections of our lifetimes because SCOTUS. And a bunch of the people who stayed home or voted Green or Lubertarian anyway. Some have learned the lesson of those elections...others, not so much.
