The only people that I've ever actually seen be canceled are Kathy Griffin and Sinead O'Connor. Louis C.K. and Chris Brown both won Grammys after they were supposedly canceled and Andrew Cuomo just ran for mayor.
“Cancellation limbo”: when you’re definitely not cancelled but not as celebrated as you used to be. This is one reason why “cancel culture” discourse is so tiresome: a lot of people are using it to mean “my life was affected in some negative way by my actions”

Hegseth is only able to do this because of the precedents set by those that came before him. If we want to be a better country we need to deal with the conditions that have brought us to this point.
