Fair, and how silly of us to not instead foresee a scenario in which this year’s WR1 is catching passes from…*checks notes* Sam Darnold

…in a year in which Daniel Jones and Baker Mayfield are leading MVP candidates

*pushes mic aside, whispers*

Are you kidding? Who wrote this script, anyway???
The fantasy football community had a chance to take two Atlanta Falcons in the first round, knowing that either never-been-good legend Michael Penix or the corpse of Kirk Cousins would be QB. And we took that chance gleefully.
There’s Something About Kelly

This shade of green just sparks the electricity in number 26

Clue! Style update:

Saquon Barkley did it

In a Kelly Green uniform

With a 65 yd TD run

Justin Fields is a sneaky good play tomorrow. I have said, "No Jets until further notice," recently. This is a one-time exception. You can make a case to play Fields as a QB2 in your lineups.
Normally I’d go Flacco

But Fields plays the Bengals

He has finished as QB7 or better vs PIT, MIA, and DAL and had his butt handed to him by better defenses

Cincy is not a better defense
So I have a QB conundrum

I got Justin Fields 3 weeks ago before he fell off of a cliff

I also picked up Flacco because his floor is much higher than Fields

Who would you play?

The floor (Flacco) or the ceiling (Fields)?

What if you’re worried about your fantasy football picks, your country, vote, AND try to be a good citizen?

The fantasy football community is full of great people who support charitable causes

The *actual* issue: people with shitty morals who don’t care about their fellow humans and lap up MAGA BS
Michael Steele: We've checked out as a country. If you know, someone's taking away the programs that are going to feed your kids, that are going to keep you healthy... and the only thing you're worried about is your fantasy football picks... then you get Trump, then you get Stephen Miller.

Given this regime’s ending SNAP benefits, and since tangibly helping our most vulnerable in society is a core value & bedrock principle of this project, I’m pledging 20% of proceeds to food pantries

A much more sensible take than the conspiracy theory I heard from the usually great Jeff Mans during his “cancelled” segment on Sirius XM yesterday

He accused the Eagles of faking an injury to exact discipline for an unreported in-house issue

Wild take without a source
Explanation for the #Eagles offense. AJ Brown had a strained hamstring in August. He’s probably been hurt all season. Early on, he wasn’t being targeted because he wasn’t open. He finally cut loose last week, got some big catches, and immediately aggravated the injury.

This is from Doug Martin’s agent Brian Murphy on behalf of his family. It says he battled mental health challenges that “profoundly impacted his personal and professional life.” It also says his parents were trying to get him medical assistance.
So when is it appropriate to start including Daniel Jones in the MVP conversation alongside Baker Mayfiel…oh look, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse just galloped by!
Colts are averaging 3.52 points per drive, the third-best number after Week 7 trailing only the 2000 Rams (3.85) and the 2007 Patriots (3.68).

Friendly reminder, I am available and like talking and will do so on your podcast this offseason.
With the offseason here, I have much more free time, so if you’re looking for a guest for your baseball podcast (or other podcasts!), hit your boy Chris up.
If you have to make this statement…or answer a question to make it…then it’s over for your QB

The Miami Dolphins are just going through the motions and I feel bad for their fans
Mike McDaniel reaffirms that Tua Tagovailoa will remain the Dolphins' starting quarterback moving forward
Clemson 🤝 Florida State
Old head Philadelphia Eagles fans to the Gen Zs and Alphas watching the Birds drop 2 straight and worried about a 3rd
I’m not sure Northwestern *has* an opponent today
Add Kendrick Bourne to this list
It has been awhile, Julius. It’s like catching up with an old friend!

Cheers to those who won their fantasy football leagues in Week 6!

Players I’m higher on than consensus in Wk 7:

Justin Fields (sigh)
Bill Croskey-Merritt
D’Andre Swift
Quinshon Judkins
Jordan Addison
Tee Higgins
Hunter Henry
