The WSJ editorial page is exerting greater scrutiny of Trump’s investment deals with foreign countries than a lot of MSM Washington correspondents

Strongly urge that you read this one.

Asking earnestly, how is the ballroom project at all legal under the Anti Deficiency Act?

We’d be able to fund the East Wing replacement by selling tickets to a sledgehammer teardown of that monstrosity.
If I were ever elected president, the first thing I’d do is take a sledgehammer to that ballroom.

Mike Johnson will now spend another three weeks insisting there’s nothing to this, he can swear her in at any moment, stop asking about it, it’s no big deal, no, I won’t just do it, shut up, that’s why
Adelita Grijalva: "There is so much that cannot be done until I'm sworn in. So every moment that passes that I'm not able to provide constituent services or be a voice for Arizona, I cannot bring the issues forward that they send me here to do."
@nbcnews.com There have been hundreds of thousands of protesters in multiple major cities, and thousands of people in tens or hundreds of cities, and hundreds of people in the remaining 1500+ towns. This headline should say “Millions.”

Do better.
@gtconway.bsky.social Can you write (or ask someone even better suited to write) an op-ed piece demanding that Kavanaugh retract his concurrence? Given the weight of the facts, the government should no longer be granted the presumption of regularity, and this opinion should be retracted.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh: “If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U.S. citizen...they promptly let the individual go."

The reality: Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

A must read from the very talented @nicolefoy.bsky.social:
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”
If he just RIF’ed CISA, I’d like to see how he’s going to enforce any cyber-related EO’s ever again. 🤡
REMINDER: American businesses and consumers will pay the 100% import tax www.cnbc.com/2025/10/10/t...
Didn’t someone explain how percentages work to him the *first* time he said this stuff?
Trump: "Drug prices are going to be going down 100%, 400%, 600%, 1,000% in some cases."
“Unable” doesn’t cut it. They need to demand it. And that includes getting arrested if required. It’s their responsibility to oversee the operations of the federal government.

Nothing will call attention to this issue more than if they are arrested for their nonviolent insistence on an inspection.
BREAKING: Sens. DURBIN, DUCKWORTH were just denied entrance to the Broadview ICE Facility in Illinois, unable to conduct constitutional role of oversight.

What Governor Pritzker is doing is right for his state, but it is vital for the Republic.
One of the first things that Democrats must establish upon retaking control of either house is bilateral respect for congressional members during questioning.

Both parties should hold public officials in contempt if they speak this way to a member.
She is not doing well
Schiff: This is supposed to be an oversight hearing when dozens of prosecutors have been fired simply because they worked on cases investigating the former president.

Bondi: What about the fires in California? Are the riots in LA serious?

This is exactly the point.

The memory of Native Americans undercuts the nationalist “blood and soil” argument, because the memory of those who preceded colonists is a direct threat to their sense of entitlement.

They are trying to make us forget that the “Again” part of MAGA is a lie.
So Americans are going to pay for Trump’s tariffs (because tariffs are taxes) AND we are going to bail out farmers who are being hurt by the tariffs EVEN THOUGH MOST FARMERS VOTED FOR HIM AND KNEW HE WOULD IMPOSE TARIFFS.

I usually support independent farmers, but that is just crazy pants.
Brooke Rollins: "Soybean, corn, wheat, sorghum, cotton farmers are facing very difficult times. We are currently in conversations here at the White House, across the government, on a farmer aid package."
