“30 day book challenge! 30 books, one per day, no particular order, that you’ve read & would recommend to another reader.”

will try to not forget

Day1
The audiobook is decent.
a red cover of a Book in the middle is a receipt depicted which entails the book title and a blurb. Debt, the first 5000 years b(y) David Graeber "fresh ... fascinating... thought-provoking... and exceedingly timely."- Gillian Tett and in cursive financial times the a line of dots and "thank you come again" (again revoking the image of the white part of the cover to be a receipt)

It's wild that we've reached a point where the President openly admits to firing people for political reasons, and his OMB director tweets about it like it's a victory. This is page one of the authoritarian playbook, happening in plain sight.

Making people afraid to be affiliated with antifascism—making people afraid to be associated with groups and people that actively oppose fascism—is some bleak shit.

Incredible NYT headline and subhead where the writer has to remind you that this is a bad thing lol

Media literacy is being able to understand why that last part is included here, but not for any story about the US abandoning its clean energy initiatives.

What horrifies me about this is that it is highly unlikely intelligence services etc didn’t know about Epstein’s activities long before this which means that child abuse is just something to turn a blind eye to (see also Cyril Smith, Al Fayed etc etc)

Unbearably violent images from Downtown Chicago where a classical music concert was played on the Chicago River. This is too elegant and magical to be seen.

The Speaker is out on camera complaining that the No Kings protest is Hamas sympathizers.
At the same time, Kegseth is announcing Hamas funders are getting an air base on American soil.

Fucking idiots.

New — Video shared with me shows ICE officers in DC detaining a man on Friday.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

“For more than 3 hours, officers can be seen walking past while he lay on the floor in his urine in obvious distress…noting he was foaming at the mouth & having seizure-like activity…mistaking his medical emergency for a drug overdose…”

Except a drug overdose is also a medical emergency...

Texas is preparing emergency resources for wildfires and floods. The Texas National Guard should be THERE — not in Illinois.

We stand ready to support their return home so they are best positioned for helping Texans respond to any natural disasters.

With expected growing wildfire danger across Texas and the potential for a flood risk this weekend, Gov. Greg Abbott is activating more state emergency response resources Friday.
