I wrote a thread in 2021 imagining life in Nazi America as a thought experiment. The goal was to get people to think about how it would affect *them* and not just think about it historically hoping maybe they’d rage against it. Oh well…

It’s the only thing I wanted to salvage from the old place.
As we endure this painfully slow slide into fascism, let's imagine Nazi
 America.
 (1) Our biggest celebrities will be creativity-deficient hacks like Baio and
Sorbo. Think their new sitcoms will be funny?
With all the good writers black-listed, Tomi Lahren will be pulling Emmys.

I wish she’d won b/c things wouldn’t be what they are now, but I never thought she had the cache deserving as the first woman president. Elizabeth Warren would’ve made us proud. AOC would. A real badass, agent of change. That wasn’t Harris. She would’ve just delayed all this.

If Blue MAGA still won’t identify all the parties kicking them in the face, that’s not on us.

We’ve sounded the alarm for years, and at this point it’s all plain as day. They just don’t want to see.

She isn’t responsible for Biden’s decisions, but the administration she was second in command of had FOUR YEARS to beat back the rising tsunami of fascism, and they chose to do f*ck all about it instead, so she needs to step off that high horse and have some humility b/c that’s her legacy, too.

Harris slams protestor during book tour.

“You want to talk about legacy? Let’s talk about the legacy of mass deportations, of not voting, and Donald Trump.”

This is fascism. And it’s no longer America.

"Historians of the future: Rest assured, millions of us know all this in real time. We are horrified, shocked, enraged, and ashamed. We are acting, in a thousand ways, to oppose it. This cannot, and will not, be how the United States ends."
Memo to Future Historians: This Is Fascism, and Millions of Us See It
From Chicago to Portland, James Comey to Letitia James, and so much else—this is no longer America.

“Argentina’s $20 billion bailout benefits American citizens how, exactly?” Welker of course didn’t ask.

Also, take care of yourself while you do.

Every American should watch it. Today.

The Number of Impeachments Must Equal the Number of Impeachable Offenses
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
It is a criminal failure of @housedemocrats.bsky.social that we can’t post every day citing the increasing record number of impeachment articles filed against the fascist president and his criminal cabinet members and other officials—for the narrative and for history.
robertdwerner.bsky.social
All it takes is democrats with some courage to just nonstop submit articles of impeachment.

Trump is doing stuff near daily that's an impeachable offense.

Hes taking full advantage of "do nothing dems".

He literally called them out and is acting on it and they prove him right.

Only by people who aren’t plugged into reality.

One thing our new political normal has taught me is ease in dismissing those people outright.

People love museum gift shops. Maybe if you can get the originals of the beautiful artistic maps and display those, people will buy the prints?

It’s less niche as a museum, in a way, and you’re such a compelling story-teller. You could bring, IDK, book clubs and orgs in.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Yes, I would’ve bought a few…
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
I don’t remember that part…
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
It got so much better after that!

I believe it ended when Pelosi reseated the MoCs who signed the Sedition Suit before January 6.

A government cannot function when 28% of the House is in open revolt against the constitutional order. The government collapsed then.

Biden and Dems had a chance to set it right but didn’t bother.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
I don’t normally reply to Blue MAGA silliness at all so feel privileged you’ve gotten this much.

If you don’t see it at this point, you are part of the problem.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
These things don’t happen in a vacuum. I was made to VBNMW for Biden whom I knew to be a horrible choice, partially b/c he was sold as the Senate Whisperer. Politics is crafting a narrative/whipping votes. None of that happened b/c they didn’t want it to. You can see that even now. Think about it.
elizabethbennettjd.bsky.social
Sure, b/c Schumer was totally on board to fight then, just like he is now.

You can keep buying that excuse given all we’ve witnessed and how utterly unequal to this the Dems have proved to be, but you’re lying to yourself and it’s part of the problem.

I thought that guy had retired to his crypt.
