She was poised to win the leadership race by actually getting people to join the party. The old guard didn't like that, so they crushed the next generation to maintain their grip on power.

It's important to remember that Eby only became premier because the party executives put their thumbs on the scale so hard they broke it. It's embarrassing. He should never stop being embarrassed by it.

Not sure what kind of plaudits Carney is expecting for bragging that asylum claims are down.

It's grotesque. Ghoulish. Trumpian.

The 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan is already delivering results: new
temporary foreign worker arrivals have fallen by about 50 per cent this year,
and new international student arrivals are roughly 60 per cent lower than in
2024. Asylum claims are also down by one-third so far in 2025.

Was too drunk to post my Starfox costume the other night. My friend who was throwing the party was dressing as Krystal, and in trying to come up with a costume, I realized the only thing close to one that I had was my low-key Fox McCloud. Just needed the tail, ears, and a new vest.

I remember back when Google's internal slogan was something like "Do no evil." Then, one day they retracted it. When 9/11 happened, they were one of the few companies that would not comply with government demands to access people's emails.

We saw them once in a while when i was growing up in Ontario Canada, i even once cultivated some from spores i collected a decade prior! Last time I was home they were everywhere, we were eating them for the whole week.

Random bit of trivia. The German name for these, Bovist, is an archaic term meaning "fox/vixen fart". It refers to the sound they make when they burst and release spores.

The Latin name Lycoperdon (another type of puffballs) means "wolf fart", same thing. 🐺

Watched The Blob (1988) for the third time in my life. I am constantly amazed this film isn't talked about on the same level as John Carpenter's The Thing, and I honestly think it's because it's too disturbing. It's more than just creepy effects, too. It's a really made movie with good characters.
