I bought a house in Seattle in 2002. Refinanced in mid-2007. Lender could not understand that I didn't want to use my home as an ATM and pull out equity. I knew it wasn't real money and things felt very frothy.

It seemed to happen most when we were working late into the evening. Someone would make one pot, but everyone left eventually and a second one was never made. Voila, coffee puck the next morning.

You're bringing back memories of the coffee chip at the bottom of the pot that was a regular feature of the industrial grade, turn your own pot off (or don't) coffee maker in my early 90s office.

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.

Not that I have any experience in such a search, but isn't part of the reason you hire pricey search firms is that they do a fair bit of due diligence and winnowing of the field? "More than 30" going before the full committee just sounds... messy and inefficient.
