One of the best things about being in NYC this weekend has been visiting different bookstores and meeting booksellers. This morning I visited McNally Jackson at Rockefeller Center and Barnes & Noble on 5th Ave!

"They Were Here Before Us warps reality in a way that allows us to see the horrific, grotesque beauty." -- Paul Tremblay, author of A Head Full of Ghosts and The Pallbearers Club.

Don't miss @ericlarocca.bsky.social's stunning "novella in pieces."

I’ll admit that before he won the Nobel Prize, I was barely aware of László Krasznahorkai and had never read him. I’m making up for that now. I also grateful because while researching him I stumbled upon José Donoso’s amazing The Obscene Bird of Night in a new, expanded edition from New Directions

Tech bros are trying to convince us that the AI they’re building will one day become Data from Star Trek. But right now we’re headed for AM from “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.”

María Fernanda Ampuero is one of the most brilliant and audacious writers I’ve ever encountered. Her work is genuinely distressing and profoundly unpleasant. If you are looking for raw, uncompromising fiction, she needs to be at the top of your list.

A very prominent reviewer I follow on YT recently read this novel and compared it to Jack Ketchum’s The Girl Next Door and Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery. I’m so happy and grateful!!

I wanna give a shout out to Neil McRobert whose debut GOOD BOY releases today. If you know Neil, you know he’s championed the hell out of every horror author working today, thanks to his podcast Talking Scared… so when I had the good fortune of reading his novella early, I jumped: bit.ly/4gYY72y
