Do these introduction-y posts do anything? I guess we shall see! Hi, new followers and/or The Curious: I write spookyangry horrorbooks like MARY, NESTLINGS, REST STOP, and the upcoming WHEN THE WOLF COMES HOME. I've also maybe appeared as a scumbag on your favorite crime procedural TV show!
A snarling, too-many-teethed wolf lurking outside a dirty window. The cover for WHEN THE WOLF COMES HOME, by Nat Cassidy, a book you should totally preorder. A bloody tile floor with some googly eyes and the title REST STOP spelled out with various cut-out letters. The cover of a novella by Nat Cassidy, which you should totally buy. A skeletal bird creature hovering over a nest with a human skull, with the New York City skyline in the distant background. The cover of the book, NESTLINGS, by Nat Cassidy, which you should totally buy. A woman relaxing in a bathtub with a journal and a glass of wine, but also with a pillowcase over her head and an additional, unaccounted-for arm coming out of the water. The cover of the novel, MARY, by Nat Cassidy, which, you guessed it, you should totally buy.

Many have asked: “Clay, where do you get your ideas?” Well, my friends, wonder no more. I’m giving away all of my creative secrets in this inspirational how-to at the Barnes & Noble blog. Learn how you, too, can write such devastating stories as the ones featured in ACQUIRED TASTE: bit.ly/3L4s8SH

None needed whatsoever!!! Our google hits have crossed for a long time and I love that she has a book out!! Thank you for helping promote it—we authors need all the help we can get! 😂

Woke up in Fairfax. Took a car to DC. Took a train to Manhattan. Took another train to Queens. Took another car to the airport. Took a plane to Albuquerque. About to take another car to a hotel. Now that’s a travel day. 🙃

(Managed to get 2k of a short story done along the way, too.)

Quite the opposite, probably! But it’s for a video game, so it involves facial imaging and I gotta give them a clean face 😭

Haha - this is actually for the OTHER Nat Cassidy, but now that we’re both officially actor/authors, I feel like we have to do an event together somehow.

I have very unfortunate news for anyone planning on attending my upcoming appearances.

No, I’m not canceling anything. It’s just … I booked an acting gig that requires me to shave all my facial hair on Monday and it’s gonna be weird for a while. I’ll understand if you need to rethink your plans.

Such an absolute delight!!! And, Alma, you’re always the best. Thank you, @fallforthebook.bsky.social!!
(Also I swear my hair wasn’t that grey before this booktour!)

I always knew me, @rachelharrison.bsky.social, and @claymcleod.bsky.social would wind up on Page Six because of our shenanigans. Thankfully, we look goooooood in these photos.

I’m so grateful for this community. I wrote this wanting to write an action character who was more than a tough woman kicking ass in the streets in steel toe boots and brass rings. She’s also vulnerable. She bleeds.

The Speaker of the House has firm views that Bad Bunny is a terrible pick for singing at the Super Bowl, but hasn't had time to watch the President's speech to our military leadership or form an opinion whether furloughed federal workers should be paid or Illinois' governor should be thrown in jail.

Happy birthday and hugest congratulations, @talkscaredpod.bsky.social. May this book thrive for all of its nine lives.

Wait. Wrong animal.

Anyway, as always, I’m shamelessly piggybacking on Neil’s hard labor by stealing his promo posts—but I also figured, if these dog pictures and blurbs don’t get you to buy the book, nothing will.
natcassidy.bsky.social
Neil’s done so much to promote our books, so it woulda been the least we could do to return the favor. BUT THEN this sodden git goes and writes something brilliant and beautiful and which we’d all be crowing about regardless of who wrote it. Missed opp, Neil; you really coulda phoned this one in.

It’s @talkscaredpod.bsky.social’s birthday and we got him the best present of all: debut release day neuroses!!
natcassidy.bsky.social
Why, you could order WHEN THE WOLF COMES HOME, MARY, NESTLINGS, *and* REST STOP and save enough money on shipping to buy some other, not-by-me book! All for a good cause!

You made it halfway through the week *and* we still have free shipping? Sounds like the perfect time to treat yourself to a new book and support indie bookstores in the process. 📚

This is going to happen a lot. Going in expecting to see Bill and Ted sing and dance and getting Beckett instead lol.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.
