David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

We never incited violence, we just called this guy a member of antifa who funded terrorism and told our followers to pay him a visit ha ha and then a totally unrelated group of people threatened to murder him in front of his students ha ha
"The petition to disband our Turning Point chapter is blatantly defamatory," Ava Kwan, outreach coordinator for the Turning Point USA chapter at Rutgers, told Fox News Digital in a statement.
"The accusations of 'inciting violence' and 'making threats' are complete lies," Kwan said. "The same people claiming we're suppressing their free speech are actively trying to silence us for speaking the truth. It's not just ironic, it's hypocritical and absurd."
tpusa_rutgers Do you want to become a socialist? If so, make sure to pay this professor a visit!!!! All jokes aside help us report this professor who has ties to Antifa which now is designated as a domestic terrorist organization. DO YOUR PART AND HELP MAKE RUTGERS A PLACE FOR ALL STUDENTS TO LEARN WITHOUT BECOMING A RADICAL SOCIALIST

New: Apple banned an app that simply archived videos of ICE abuses. Rather than other apps that record ICE official's real-time location, Eyes Up is to "preserve evidence until it can be used in court." Videos from TikTok etc. Every submission manually reviewed

Apple Banned an App That Simply Archived Videos of ICE Abuses
Eyes Up's purpose is to "preserve evidence until it can be used in court." But it has been swept up in Apple's crackdown on ICE-spotting apps.

I love when Andy Ngo does one of his David Attenborough-style posts about Antifa and highlights some kid who took a bong rip and waddled into the protest dressed like a giant muppet.

My favorite flavor of his commentary by far.
Andy Ngo wants to draw your attention to Barney the dinosaur

The Post laid off seemingly the remaining of their liberal-leaning staff members on Opinion last Thursday, when some of them were observing Yom Kippur.

Some excerpts from our latest episode, when @micahloewinger.bsky.social asked @jamellebouie.net about some of his mean posts on Bluesky:

One of the FP’s signature deceptions is presenting politically motivated op-eds as fearless reporting. A legitimate news outlet would have assigned an actual reporter to look into the claims of the “whistleblower,” which would’ve turned up conflicting info pre-publication.

Remember when these guys ran a completely fabricated story about trans kids sourced to a single bigot who worked at St Louis Children’s Hospital and it got so much traction that they ended a bunch of programs for trans kids because of all the bomb threats

Being a podcaster costs $40 for a decent mic and $18 per month for hosting. The hard part is having something interesting to say. Get a degree in that!

You cant tell from the audio but I was recording the convo under a blanket in a closet because I was traveling. Haven’t done this since the height of the pandemic

I think Jamelle was a bit shocked when I started reading aloud his mean posts but he made his case for name-calling pretty well.

In this interview we also talk about Trump’s mental acuity, Hegseth’s authoritarian fantasies, learning from history, and regulating fear in politics and life.

Thank you Matt that’s very kind ❤️

SCOOP — Pennsylvania prosecutors were alerted to possible voting irregularities by one of MAGA's leading voices against voter fraud. A long paper trail shows Jack Posobiec has been living in Maryland but voting using his parents' PA address for years.

From @jsweetli.bsky.social, @slate.com + me:

A long paper trail shows that Jack Posobiec casts a ballot in one state and lives in another.
