Bluesky leftists are largely comfortable, white, and middle-class. They don't think they're in any danger from fascism, which is why they're so cavalier about playing games with everyone else's lives.

That’s a good point. Our taxpayer dollars are going towards blowing up innocent Venezuelans and not one of the geNoCidE people are protesting Trump.

Instead they’re spending hundreds of dollars buying a Kamala Harris Book Tour ticket to get inside and yell at her:

The "I don't want my tax money murdering children and families in Palestine" folks.

Well, your tax money is being used to bomb fishing vessels under the false narrative of them being drug traffickers.

Those are fathers, brothers, sons, and uncles.

You mad about that too? Or nah?

I really wish people would familiarize themselves with popular anti-authoritarian movements.

You succeed, in part, by being funny.

This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

This literally does nothing. You are not beating fascism by dressing up in inflatable suits and dancing

Portland is leading the way. This is how you (non violently) beat Fascism. Humor and ridicule are key.

Authoritarians believe the only way to make anyone do something is by force, they completely overlook persuasion: it's one of their biggest weaknesses and it pains me to see people on "my side" making the same mistake

People are confusing their own tedious self-importance with effectiveness.

The animal costumes are a genius move. It should be adopted by every protest.

Paying $500 to tell a person you specifically kept out of a job that they're not doing enough work for your liking (especially when you could go talk to the person in charge-or your family and friends who put him there- for free) is.....a choice.

This is a flex.

He know his rubes will believe any shit he tells them and he wants to see how far he can take it.

Next week he'll tell them everyone in Portland lives in caves now and eats brontosaurus ribs like the Flintstones.

Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

That's clearly unlawful on various fronts. That's why they're looking for voter information from the states. They want to fire people registered as Democrats in the last election. That's something that no politician should want, even Republicans.

Q: How many layoffs have you authorized?

TRUMP: It'll be a lot. And it'll be Democrat-oriented.

They play chess and we're playing checkers. So we scream KING ME over an elected President. They quietly reply "checkmate" because they've rendered said President useless because of Congress, the courts and offices at ALL THE OTHER LEVELS. They've been boiling us to death for 50 years

A widespread issue I find on the left is that ppl by and large only consider Dem leadership to be those in Congress and not actually locally elected officials like Governors, Mayors, state legislatures, and city councils. Republicans get that which is why they fight so hard for even school boards

They're trying to squeeze every little bit of district seats because they're afraid of the probably outcome of the midterms. Worse case scenario: the administration tries to stop having midterms. We see shades of that with them preventing the congresslady from AZ to get sworn in.

When I see this, I wonder if people realize that Jim Crow racism in the American south was a type home-grown fascism. It was not (just) a superficially genteel system of social deference. Refusing to defer was often met with incredible violence designed to terrorize the entire Black community.

Man they were banking on mass civil unrest because now they’re getting desperate and looking more ridiculous by the day.

Texas National Guard troops to Illinois? We gotta send troops to Portland?

This is ridiculous. It’s almost like they’re saying “please riot”

Pathetic.
