When I see this, I wonder if people realize that Jim Crow racism in the American south was a type home-grown fascism. It was not (just) a superficially genteel system of social deference. Refusing to defer was often met with incredible violence designed to terrorize the entire Black community.

35-50 y/o Black followers of Jesus who have this chaotic faith mosaic of the Black Church of our youth, the "Multicultural/CCM" of our teens/ 20s & are unpacking that, & want a Faith journey reflective of where we are in life but sans misogyny & homophobia, but no yt supremacy either, what we doin?

The fact she thought it was ok to talk like that to an employee in front of a Cabinet member, on 🎥, proves that she is not right in the 🧠 & has crossed & will cross lines the rest of us would never.

This is disheartening. I want all races in my community and unfortunately I think this is racist. I understand the black community wants to be supported, it’s coming off as a one way street. I’ve encountered racism lately all from mentally unstable black women. Blacksky will further segregate people

It so reminds me of kids who got to college right out of their fundamentalist churches and didn't know how to interact with people with different belief systems without insulting everyone.
The fundamentalist mindset for lots of people is still there, even if they left religion behind.

One of my good friends says, that when a Black trans woman can walk down the street, free from harassment and violence, we’ll know we’ve reached equity. The only thing I’d add to that is to make this fictional person Black, trans, disabled, and low income - I might add immigrant. But I digress.
