This is a cool idea and despite my near-certainty that I'll eventually miss a day and feel bad, I'm going to give it a shot.

Get to know my game taste in 365 games!

For 2025, I'm going to post every day about a game that has been meaningful to me. Might not be the "best" games, or even my "favorites," but they're all ones that have stuck with me in one way or another, in rough ascending order of impact.

I know I made a joke about defrosting a turkey wrong but I actually was defrosting it correctly, in the fridge, and it's still somehow a frozen solid block of ice four days later. So.

Zootopia 2 is getting good reviews and I’m sure I’ll see it with the kiddos but it’s very funny that the pitch is “zootopia again but this time they’re racist to lizards”

Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

"Epic bacon humor is cringe" is a hard concept to explain to people who aren't stewing in online discourse so I really appreciate Elon Musk providing a handy example

Aside from the high seas murder spree, an order to court martial a sitting senator for 100% legal political speech, and to do so under blatant unlawful command influence, would probably be the clearest case yet of an order so manifestly unlawful there is a duty for anybody in uniform to refuse it.

Why curse at your family this thanksgiving when you can curse at your Switch?

I can’t go so far as to say “apple pie is bad” but it’s unusually easy to make a bad apple pie. Too many people make it with huge chunks of apple instead of little bits so you try to take a forkful and the whole thing collapses. Not a mistake that’s even possible for a berry or filling based pie.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

Are any newsrooms still doing those Trump Voter Safari features? I feel like you might get some more interesting and insightful answers out of people now than you did at the start.

This comes after Donald Trump personally requested Paramount to revive the franchise.

The scare quotes around “Captain” while Secretary Fox & Friends talks down to an actual war hero turned fucking *astronaut* is really something, exploring new heretofore unseen levels of tryhard loser
When you draw a platoon leader like Hegseth, it’s your worst nightmare. You just ride it out until he’s gone and gets replaced by someone who isn’t a complete jackass. Only a fool like Trump would put one of them in charge of the entire defense department.

One thing Rogue One did really well, which Andor expanded on, is establish that the destruction of the Death Star was built on the collective work and sacrifice of tons of regular people before Luke ever had a chance to nail a one in a million shot with space magic

good work guys you picked a fight in which Dems can stand up out of their permanent defensive crouch and go “our guy is a fucking astronaut and you’re an alcoholic tv host”
Gallego to Hegseth: "You will never ever be half the man that Sen. Kelly is. You, sir, are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from the president shows how big of a coward you are. I can't wait until you are no longer the secretary of defense."

You may not agree with the exact ranking but this list seems perfectly defensible. You can also sort them cleanly into buckets:

The Actual Classics: ESB, SW, ROTJ

Messy But Kinda Going For Something: R1, TLJ, ROTS

Coasting On Nostalgia: TFA, Solo

Just Bad, Actually: TPM, AotC, ROS
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

The right-wing spin on this is that POTUS has only issued legal orders so Dems are implicitly trying to confuse military service members.

But I’m not sure who that’s fooling. If he’s only issuing legal orders and the message is “refuse illegal orders,” then you agree. Why are you flipping out?
President insists his word is the one and only law in this land.

Wicked: For Good was pretty much exactly what I expected: songs weren’t as catchy or powerful, but great performances across the board, and a few little changes to make the story more cohesive. I liked it but didn’t love it as much as part 1, which again, expected.

DONALD TRUMP FIVE MINUTES AFTER MEETING ME: And as you all know Mega Man Trigger is still stuck up on the moon. But it's wrong, it's a terrible thing, and Capcom should be ashamed. They should be ashamed. You know they said they were going to make a third one, but they chickened out
DONALD TRUMP FIVE MINUTES AFTER MEETING ME: And it's called "Ouendan." Ok? When I heard it, I said, what a beautiful word. But it's something we're going to be looking at more and more, and doing it probably even better than it's ever been done
DONALD TRUMP FIVE MINUTES AFTER MEETING ME: And, you know, the Game Awards, they gave Best Music to God of War instead of Xenoblade 3, and it was very unfair

I can’t believe no one in his orbit has told him that as part of his new in-touch affordability push that he should try to stop talking like Lucille Bluth
Trump on Mamdani: "We had some interesting conversation and some of his ideas are really the same ideas that I have. But a big thing on cost. The new word is 'affordability.' Another word is just 'groceries.' It's sort of an old fashioned word but it's very accurate."
