"The GOP will flinch from more than doubling health insurance premiums—at least if middle-class people and up are the most affected—but only if they can also make the insurance worse, and make poor people pay more."
The Trump health care proposal that would extend ACA subsidies for 2 years has been put on hold by House Republicans who can't stand seeing people covered. But that plan had a lot of stuff in it that would worsen insurance and raise prices, @ryanlcooper.com and I write.

Does the BBC think it's improper for a speaker to state their opinion that Donald Trump is the most openly corrupt president in American history?

Because I think almost all historians would readily agree that Donald Trump is the most openly corrupt president in American history.
BBC censors a lecture removing author’s remarks on Trump that refer to him a the most openly corrupt American president.

A Democrat who was elected sheriff in Pennsylvania this month hopes others are watching: “It sends a message to elected public safety officials across the country that partnering with ICE is a loser in a district that’s remotely a swing district.”
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE
A populous swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.
